That's because he's a bloody fly half, and shouldn't be playing at 15.
He sure is. Should be at 10 every time, imho.
Turned out to be a bit more than that, and at least he got a tackle or two in.sockwithaticket wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 6:39 pm Massive let off.
Ted Hill being sent on with 10 seconds to go is so absurd.
Agree. But on the basis of the last few games then, he shouldn't even be a starter. His namesake has been better.Hal Jordan wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 6:42 pmThat's because he's a bloody fly half, and shouldn't be playing at 15.
And still have Borthwicksockwithaticket wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 6:43 pm Well, consecutive 1 point shithouse wins is certainly better than consecutive shithouse defeats. We're still shit, though.
It's a shame it's not more like the NFL where the coaches often get the bullet <coughWiggycough> for shit performance from a part of the team they've git the responsibility for.Oxbow wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 6:43 pm Fantastic, we were utter shite yet managed to scrape a win which guarantees another couple of years of Borthwick and his eye cancer brand of rugby.
We have literally no way of getting the ball to our wingers but what's fucking annoying is that we had a couple of attacks where we moved the ball really well, but didn't finish, but instead of trying to build on it, we just clammed up and started kicking it aimlessly again.PCPhil wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 6:47 pm Jesus. Why does it make me feel so shit after an England win? Because we offered nothing except a bulldog spirit. Rant over. Time for beer.

Fin Smith shows nerves of steel while Finn Russell bottles it.
Exactly. Win-Win for Scotland afterwards. You are definitely keeping Borthwick and we might get to move on from Toonie.el capitan wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 8:35 pm Yep, hard to celebrate that. Of course, for the second round in a row, laughed heartily at the final whistle after that banter win, but you're always thinking that this just means the status quo remains.
Really should be 0-3 and the RFU having to act to quell the angry mob. Instead quite possibly going to be chalking up 4 wins this tournament and I fear they'll do something stupid like give Borthwick and his terrorist rugby a new contract.
Agree with both of you.
Yep. People love to support winners !!
It’s a better feeling than losing, no doubt about it, regardless of exactly how we managed it
100% agree with this. First time I’ve been to Twickenham for many years and it was absolutely brilliant. Great set up and had so many great chats with proper rugby supporters, absolutely loved itTichtheid wrote: Sat Feb 22, 2025 7:04 pm Congratulations England
It was a good match.
Those journalists who posted shite against the spirit of our sport this week can go and fuck themselves
Exceptionally bizarre story but I watched the game in a pub in north London and decided to take a longish walk there this morning.

On the way I wandered into a church in Gospel Oak I’d always been curious about when I’d lived round the corner. Very long story short the Reverend was the only person in there and after a long conversation he asked if there was anything I wanted to pray for with him.
Mentioned my kid on the way, said a prayer for him then mentioned I hoped England would win this afternoon. He laughed and said that was well beyond divine powers. Clearly not as it turned out.
Glad you had a good day out, we had to win one at some point. Strange day all told, and after that the kid is 100% getting baptised

Oh I agree with how we played and the tactics. Everything is so negative and proscribed in attack under Borthwick and Wigglesworth. Perhaps with a few more caps together under their belts Mitchell and Smith might try and play more to their usual instincts.Lobby wrote: Sun Feb 23, 2025 1:48 pmWill Greenwood wasn't overly impressed eitherSaintK wrote: Sun Feb 23, 2025 11:43 am The Welsh walrus thought England and the atmosphere at Twickenham were shit!

"England were outscored by three tries to one, at home, with a wonderful scrum and line-out, in the best conditions you will ever experience for a February rugby match. Sixteen paltry points. They simply play no rugby. I’m all for kicking for territory and playing in the right areas but this was overkill. The first instinct is to kick – twice with an overlap, on turnover ball – rather than look to play. The try tally was a damning indictment of the attacking capabilities of this England side."
Twickenham atmosphere is basically a cop out for lines much like ‘never know what France will turn up’. Acoustically it is a very loud stadium, it gets loud when English fans have something to cheer for. Not really reasonable to expect a wall of noise in that first half, certainly against France the roof was coming off.SaintK wrote: Sun Feb 23, 2025 1:58 pmOh I agree with how we played and the tactics. As for the atmosphere, Jones is just an old fart. My daughter goes to at least one match every 6N and Autumn International window (helps that her father is ticket secretary at her club) she reckons the atmosphere was the best she's experienced so far.
