Space Karen will let Tesla go to the wall. He’s trying to replace all that wealth with US Govt contracts. High speed internet, nope. Here’s starlink, NASA shut down. Here’s SpaceX to replace it. He’s trying to get access to the gold reserves FFS.

SpaceX is going to hit serious problems soon enough too, Starship is a dud. Notwithstanding all that, his true problems lie in the fact that all his nominal wealth is leveraged to the hilt. I saw one figure that he's personally on the hook for at least $72bn against his Tesla stock alone.

Hopefully Tesla will get taken over by someone with just the normal.level of corporate evil so that sane people can start buying them again.

That's not going to happen. Tesla is a doomed brand, it's inextricably linked to Musk. Which is the ultimate irony given how much he fucked over the founders.

Toyota are pretty cunty, too, massive funders of fossil fuel boosting and slow walkers om the EV front with endless hydrogen bullshit and "solid state batteries are just two years away". And they've just announced they'll be dropping any sponsorship of LGBTQ+events and canning DEI. Fuck them.

Trump is an unprincipled outright right wing racist. He yearns for the return of apartheid in SA and thinks he can create something similar in the US. His nazi salute wasn't something he hasn't practiced!

Musk and some of the other more 'extreme' tech bros, including PayPal, ex mining family and fellow SA Thiel, follow a guy called Curtis Yarvin and subscribe to his world views. Have a read, it's scary stuff!

Musk is a cunt and his Canadian grandad on his mum's side was apparently a proper Nazi but Musk himself grew up in a wealthy liberal anti-apartheid family (who would have very much looked down on Apartheid supporting Afrikaners). As recently as 2020 he also voted for Biden. The idea that he is “yearning for the days of Apartheid” is pretty silly tbh. He left Apartheid SA as soon as he was old enough

Especially as he clearly has some bizarre thing about being a breeder with male heirs. A lot (possibly all?) of his kids are IVF babies and with IVF you can control the sex of the child. He chose male for every single one.

He's also chronically online on a platform that he turned into a hard right/far right safe space. That's got to create it's own sort of feedback loop.

To add to what Dpedin said, marry that libertarian 'don't tell me what to do' sensibility to being incredibly thin-skinned and an awkward dork who wants to think of himself as a respected thought and business leader and we get the current situation. He's leveraged the one thing he does have - money - to try and bring about a state of affairs where a fragile man-child who wants to do as he pleases can.

Some would suggest he left SA for Canada in order to avoid subscription to the SA army. Whilst he didn't have bone spurs he did have his Mothers Canadian nationality and a rich father. His family benefited greatly from the great wealth generated from their mining and other businesses whilst paying barely subsistence wages to their black employees. Musk would sell his granny, or even use his child as a marketing tool/human shield, in order to get what he wants so voting for the then President Biden was hardly a reflection of his true colours more just a business decision. You are honestly suggesting that a man who openly did a nazi salute, threatens democratically elected politicians from other countries and is gutting US of all DEI policies and spending isnt an apartheid supporter?

At the time he left he was at no risk of being conscripted since military service was easily deferred

I don’t think you really understand the context Apartheid and Musk. Apartheid was borne out of working-class Afrikaner opposition to British capital and the fear of being replaced by black labour. It resulted in government owned para-statals that guaranteed employment to working class Afrikaners and also codified repressive measures against black South Africans - to prevent their ability to compete in the labour market against Afrikaners. It was a sort of anti-capitalist , Afrikaner socialism with racism. It led to a stagnant economy with high levels of government control and interference. Also repressive and oppressive societies, that would have been resented by most young, educated whites, including I’m pretty sure Elon. So, I genuinely don’t think Elon yearns for that particular system.

Of course, he voted for Biden in 2020 because he thought that was best for his businesses, but I think you are ignoring the very public change in his political POV since, where he is now supporting the likes of the AFD and posting conspiracy theories. Although I’m not sure if he believes a lot of the shit he posts. Anyway, he is a total cunt so I don’t want to come across as defending him.

I'm unconvinced that his parents would have been very liberal minded anti apartheid types tbh, given some of their public actions. And his Dad is a complete piece of shit.
Do people inherit conservatism from their parents or something?
People very often end up with similar views to their parents, although obviously not always. But very often pieces of shit raise pieces of shit.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

His dad is a soutie that ran as a candidate for the PFP, which was the liberal anti-apartheid opposition (Helen Suzman’s party). As big a piece of shit as he might be, he didn’t support apartheid
