Henry Immelman starts at fullback for the Sharks  I didn't even know he was with us, I presume he's a loan for injury cover.

Our injury list is insane. Am, AE, Fassi, both Tshituka brothers, Eben, Richardson,....

So it looks like the seniors at my kids school are $harks supporters. They were wearing popped fukken collars with pride yesterday.

Do I take him out of the school?
Or do I just accept that he may become a $harks supporter? At 5 years old, is he to young to be disowned?

Accept that your children are superior to you in every possible way.

But let them know they have a lifetime of frustration and underperformance to look forward to.

Jurenzo Julies (Oom marked him since his PRG schooldays to be a Springbok)
Another Percy Montgomery type of poach nt Walvis but Rehobot

Namibia’s loss is South Africa’s gain as ‘The Boogie Man’ Jurenzo Julius sets his sights on Springboks

If Jurenzo Julius had not been awarded a rugby scholarship to Paul Roos Gimnasium, he could have debuted for Namibia instead of knocking on the door of the mighty Springboks.

The 20-year-old was born and raised in South Africa’s neighbouring country, where his powerful physique earned him the nickname “The Boogie Man”, and also gained him attention from the Cape rugby nursery.

“Namibia was my home and my family live there, but it changed for me after primary school when the offer came to go to South Africa,” the recently crowned Junior Springbok of the Year said on Wednesday.

“I was born into a rugby family – my father and uncles played semi-professionally – and being bigger than the other guys, the nickname came, and it stuck.

“But I also learned skills from a young age by playing tennis and doing athletics and gymnastics. At high school, though, rugby was the focus.”

A YouTube video called “The Boogie Man” shows Julius running through or around defenders by using power and skill in equal measure, and that has put him on the recognised pathway to the very top – SA Schools, SA Under-20s, Currie Cup, United Rugby Championship, Champions Cup and, latterly, an invite to the first Springbok alignment camp of the year.

“They helped us younger guys with tips on how to become a Springbok. They emphasised the importance of being a team player.

“I learned that I need to be more precise and accurate in everything I do. To get to a world-class level, I have to polish even the smallest things.

“I have always kept my rugby goals simple. I wanted to play SA Schools, then I wanted to play for the Junior Boks.

“Now I want to go all the way, and I feel it is in reach.”

When Julius arrived at the Sharks from school, he was rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in the game, the likes of Eben Etzebeth and Siya Kolisi.

“It was a big deal when I first got to the Sharks,” he said. “I have been into rugby my whole life, and here I was with these guys.
“I was star-struck, seeing how they do things, and why they are where they are.

“But at the same time, you try to live up to them. You want to impress and rise to that level.”
The Sharks have world-class coaches, and Julius said that he has learned a great deal from attack coach Dave Williams and defence coach Joey Mongalo.

“They are experienced coaches and have coached so many Springboks.

“Joey always drives us to be better and not accept average things. They drive a high standard, and expect us to step up to it.”

This week, the Sharks host Zebre at Kings Park in Durban on Saturday (2.45pm kick-off), and Julius expects a tough encounter.

“We are expecting a fight. Italian teams are always physical. They have beaten some big teams and can still make the top eight, so we will not take them lightly at all.”

I drove past Paul Roos when I was young. After that I noticed I became much better at rugby. Such an amazing school.

Edwill van der Merwe is signed for the Sharks. I rate him. Will definitely add to the squad. Mapimpi has signed for another 2 years too. Hooker needs to focus on 12 although Andre Esterhuizen is first choice there

Waiting for the Stormers game watching schoolboy Noord Suid rugby on 216. It's kuiken mood for the Souties. Probably why you troll the Boland schools.

What a dismal performance. Sharks couldn't catch a ball if their life depended on it. Yaw particularly kak here. I am getting so frustrated with Jayden. Always a pause before his pass. It is unbearable and so easy to read by the opposition. Kak is kak. Jordan was brought crashing down to earth. School boy errors costing the Sharks. When is Fassi back. He is soooooo needed. Hooker is falling apart. Just not clicking. Jurenzo also making handling errors. Obviously the conditions were horrible and we don't know the full extent. But Penz , Jayden and Jordan need to be addressed. Edwil will cover the wing and Fassi full back so no panic. Andre the giant was formidable but still needs to work on fitness. It looks like the Sharks had an afternoon braai with beverages before that game

Wtf is going on dudes. I was hit on the driver's side by some clown in a souped up Audi that hit me full speed. Lots of internal damage which means eating is difficult. Broken knee which is going to be operated on Wednesday. I am basically bed ridden till I get through this but my wife has set me up so I can work from home and we have all meetings at home so I am still in touch. We are crazy busy at work so its not ideal but I will have to trust my production partner and my wife to run things for the next 8 weeks until I am ready to move around without a wheel chair. But very fortunate to get off this lightly. My shoulders are in pain because of the seat belt and we suspect muscle damage which must still heal so crutches out of the question. So its a walker for short distances and the wheel chair for getting around. Obviously I am eating very little because of internal damage so that doesn't help rebuild strength. All I can say is thank goodness this happened after cricket season.

Look. Keeping Leinster to such a low score is impressive for any side in the tournament. So we can't be critical. The Stormers would have given anything for that score line. Lions too. Handling errors especially Yaw, Jordan's wayward kicks out and Jaydens poor service were our biggest issues. But we have decent cover. No need to panic. Our Springboks did very well but I have noticed that the refs don't reward forward dominance by the Sharks and Bulls like they should. This basically nullified our strengths. This is going to be a problem going forward until someone addresses it with the refs. Leinster were always offside and the ref ignored this and just let it go. This stopped any attack. For both the Sharks and the Bulls. But Sharks defense is far superior to the other sides resulting in a very unflattering score line for both sides . Leinster defense was good too. No need to panic. Sharks have the cattle. They just need to get fit again and play

The Sharks were packed with double WC winners and get beaten by a bunch of Leinster academy youngsters at HOME. Worrying times for Bok supporters.

You really aren't giving enough credit to all those Stormers double world cup Springboks that got drilled by Leinster. That is even more of a concern than a 3 point victory against the Sharks.

But I do understand how you would be more critical of the Sharks considering their log position and your log position

There is only 10 points in it. May catch you but as long as we ended 4 and 5 it will be game on for the Stormers.

Good luck to the Stormers. Lost 3 matches more than the Sharks. But you do have a home run. So very possible.

I was the same with the Stormers on Friday. Gave up after 50 minutes because they were playing badly and being filthy arseholes.

I think the Stormers and Sharks are both poorly coached at the moment, especially the packs. They make bad decisions, can't protect their ball and give away stupid penalties.

Yes there is something not quite right happening with our teams at the moment.

I even find the Bulls quite underwhelming, despite their position on the log.

The Sharks looked flat even when they came on the field, and it stayed that way. No fire at all.
