Would have love to get that. There is still Cardiff to play.Sards wrote: Sun May 11, 2025 3:33 pm Interesting.
If Sharks win next weekend and Leinster beat Glasgow warriors, Stormers will travel to play against the Warriors. Pity. Would love to take the Stormers out in Durban

The Stormers will have to get past Glasgow and Leinster away to get the Sharks in the final.

Glasgow to drop another match will see the Sharks move into 3rd. One of Munster or Benneton to lose and Stormers to knock over Cardiff can see Embra move in the top 8.

Ball had reached the plane of touch therefore the kick from Zas doesn't keep it in play. Third try shouldn't have stood for the Stormers.

Stormers will go the high road, Glasgow and Leinster away.
To be pedantic, the high road is the road you want to take. The low road was for dead soldiers "returning home".OomStruisbaai wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 7:25 pm Stormers will go the high road, Glasgow and Leinster away.

It's not quite as simple as that.topofthemoon wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 5:44 pm Ball had reached the plane of touch therefore the kick from Zas doesn't keep it in play. Third try shouldn't have stood for the Stormers.

Yeah my bad for focusing on the ball and not the player as well. I thought it was going to fall under Law 18.2d:Uncle fester wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 9:09 pmIt's not quite as simple as that.topofthemoon wrote: Fri May 16, 2025 5:44 pm Ball had reached the plane of touch therefore the kick from Zas doesn't keep it in play. But Zas adjusts his feet to stay in and then is in the air when he kicks the ball so it's 18.2c and plane of touch not relevant:18.2 The ball is not in touch or touch-in-goal if:
d. A player, who is in touch, kicks or knocks the ball, but does not hold it, provided it has not reached the plane of touch.
It's actually an exceptional piece of skill.18.2 The ball is not in touch or touch-in-goal if:
c. A player jumps from the playing area and knocks (or catches and releases) the ball back into the playing area, before landing in touch or touch-in-goal, regardless of whether the ball reached the plane of touch.
I do still think the TMO cleared it remarkably quickly though. I don't think you can be certain on the position of the player and ball without going through the replays extremely slowly and freeze framing.

Well ..... at least Connacht isn't the worst Irish Province
Really disappointing season all told, & now a short time to get a lot of things working, so that the nice shiny new stadium gets filled week in, week out !
I've lost count of how many games we've thrown away in the last 20 minutes.

Sharks intent on throwing the highest number of suicidal short balls in a match.
No intention of going through phases or planned attack

Difficult to over state how awful the Sharks, particularly the backs, have been.
Masuku going off is probably a blessing
