Pretty much permanently injured when he was at Saints, only played a handful of games. Maybe he'll fair better up North.

Yeah, his signing was announced as being, “subject to medical”.

I don’t think we ever found out why he left Edinburgh in the first place. I really hope he keeps fit, he is still only 28.

There were plenty rumours but I don’t think I believe them. I think he was simply given a better offer, one he felt he couldn’t refuse. My memory is he wasn’t getting much gametime at edinburgh, he had a poor loan to Newcastle and then he got a probably pretty unexpected chance to join Sarries who were in trouble but probably a) still offering more money than edinburgh and b) a chance to be part of a project that was likely to get Sarries back to the top pretty rapidly. He won a prem in 2023 so it seems like a vindication of his choice.

I don’t think he has ever become the player we thought he might, but he will still be a good squad to first team player and this gives him a chance at getting into the Scotland fold. As you say, he is only 28 so he has plenty time to make his mark.

A poor signing by Saints. I always thought he was very ordinary when he played for Sarries

I see the Maori game is on sky on sat but are the other games being covered? Don't appear to be on sky.

It’s annoying the coverage of games against the PI sides is always so chaotic. Hopefully someone will pick it up at the last minute tho.

I haven't seen anything for our games apart from the Maori, or the Ireland games v Georgia and Portugal, or the Wales v Japan games.

Biffer, you know you we're talking about taking a month's full price Now subscription and then cancelling, then taking up the reduced offer ?

I have done that but stopped at the final click because they have worded it ambiguously, it LOOKS like I can cancel at any time on this reduced offer, but there is ambiguity in the wording regarding it being a six month deal, so I'm 99% sure that I can take out one extra month then ditch it, but I'm not the full 100%.

This is the situation I’m in, it’s very ambiguous but I went for it anyway.

I’ve actually ended up most of the first cricket test v India and the F1 as well so getting my moneys worth!

I took the one month for exactly that reason, I think it’s a 6 month minimum contract.

I took the plunge as there doesn’t seem to be a minimum term contract in this situation, ie you pay full price for a month and then get a cheaper price offer when you go to cancel. This is valid for six months, but you can cancel at any time during that period.

I hope :???:

I'm sure they have changed the wording in the last week, it's now "6 month minimum term, cancel anytime effective at the end of the minimum term" which I don't think is that ambiguous. 99% that wasn't the wording 10 days ago

It was a whole lot of fun last time.

As was Gloucester from the little I remember.

I'd like Bath and Castres as the away games tbh.

Ireland's games are on Virgin Media and RugbyPass TV.

Wales game 1 is on BBC with game 2 on S4C.

Pretty sure Scotland are the only Tier 1 nation with no confirmed coverage of their Tests.

Stan Sports is the PPV streaming service of FTA Channel 9 here in Australia and they have pretty much all the rugby hoovered up - Domestic, International etc including all the Lions fixtures.
They have all our games on the broadcast schedule so it appears there is coverage available - just a matter of a UK rights holder picking up the option and deciding to show it I guess?

Doubt it will be Sky as Channel 9 was originally part of the Kerry Packer stable and the Murdoch run Fox Sports (which picks up Sky's F1 coverage) have given up on rugby here.

There was a wee bit of a debate after the last lions test as to whether players from other countries seem to have to do less/Scottish players seem to have to do more to get praise from this commentary team.

Huw Jones chased a lions kick 25 meters at full sprint, charged it down, regathered his own charge down and then sprinted a further 50m to score a try. The commentary team spent the next 2 or 3 minutes talking about an itoje interception the previous phase where the ball was more or less passed straight to him. Sure, it was a critical moment in the opportunity, but bloody hell surely jones deserved a wee bit of credit.

I was actually coming on to say the same.
Yeah Duhan could have done better with the kick through but other than that he did absolutely nothing better or worse than any of the other backs. He was slightly caught with the flight of the cross field kick but ultimately dealt with it in a way no other player could do.
Quite a few players were caught out under the high ball, what the fuck was JGP thinking, but he gets a free pass for a more glaring error, so do Freeman and Daly both of whom dropped kicks and both knocked on twice. Daly dropping the ball to ground instead of the scoring pass to Duhan was ridiculous.
It's even more glaring in the fact that some actually believe Smith is a better option than Finn.
People even saying Jones was shit which is absolutely mind blowing.

Did you see the ‘stats’ they put up before the game to rank the tightheads (they went Stuart, Furlong, Bealham) based on entirely made up criteria like ‘grit’? Utterly hilarious shite.

I’m pretty sure they were implying Fin Smith was a step up in quality when he came on too, which was equally ludicrous.

Every time people talk about VdM I find myself thinking 'winger in poor defending shocker'.

Very few wings defend well. Lowe used to but he's starting to look slow and a bit thick around the middle.

Squad needs more Darcy.

That one was rumoured and poo-pooed a couple of months ago but the rumour seems to keep coming back. I’m not sure, on recent form, Hastings has it.
