From an ABs perspective for mine:
Richie proven best 10
Don't think Reiko's going to cut it at 13. It's either wing or bust.
I'm a big TJ fan but he's not having his best season for whatever reason. Need to see more of Webber.
Akira deserves another shot.
Court is still out on Reece for me. Some dumb penalties there.
Not sure Lumpy is going to cut it as an AB 12. Goodhue mixed up bash, step and distribution better.

Yep, a drawn first test that could've gone their way, and outstanding defence across much of the series...

It is Akira, not Ikira.
Otherwise I basically agree with your points

Jordan could barely handle 5 minutes of hard international Rugby. He's too green for me and would have made no difference.

Sevu Reece should never put on another black Jersey.

Reiko also can fuck off to the bench. If it weren't for his speed he would be the first axing.

Perenara poor on attack, but his cover defence saved us multiple times when Wallabies made half a break.

BB needs to fall in line and go to fullback. He's not giving Lumpy quality pill

Jordie didn't have a great game but wasn't the problem.

ALB had a fairly bad game, have away some silly penalties.

The front rows were terrible, they all need to fuck off.

Scott Barrett makes up a trio of on field fuck ups.

Sam 1 and 2 and Ardie wore the Jersey with pride

He was the third best fullback on the field

Obviously foster learnt nothing from Hanson. Hey let’s rest players who have only had 3 months of footy this year. WOEFUL

Beaudy was fucking gash.

Shovel shovel shovel. Directionless.

Outpointed for worst AB back marginally by TJ the ponderous prick Perenara.

He did his best, but not on his own. Are we not allowed to mention that, Robyn Barrett?

The rotation was completely unnecessary. We only have a few tests this year, start building some consistency with your xv. Biggest issue tonight (as has been for the last 4 years) is our inability to match an aggressive defense. Next is the lack of accuracy from 9 and 10 which negated the entire back line. I cannot understand how we keep picking Perenara. At international level his passing makes him a liability. Laumape had a poor game, but it is difficult to judge when the 9 and 10 fall apart.

While Laumape was poor, I'd said as much earlier, it was pointed out correctly in the other place he's had basically no rugby since injury. Tough spot to be in with the treacle he was getting.

Still not sure about the picks. As was said pre-match, there were players there that needed to get a run. Wish we'd seen more of Akira and Jordan.

The first half all Beaudy did was kick possession away, usually straight to an opposition player. Lumpy should never start a Test, he is great off the bench. Cane played well but he has got a long way to go when it comes to Captaincy. TJ is just too farking slow clearing the pill at ruck time he’s like Piri, standing around looking, directing, pointing, just clear the farking ball carnt!

I'd punt TJ entirely. He's shit and not worthy of the black jersey at the moment. Promote Weber to deputy and install a hungry young 9 as third in line. Hell Drummond is better than TJ currently.

So what is the consensus on the All Barretts/Ioane Blacks ??
Do we need more of them? Was that the problem? Did we need Josh Ioane too?

Thought Reiko made a couple of bad choices in line and pass or run options. You can tell he's got the winger's instinct to back himself first. He's young yet but even so, he should be working this out in soup, not AB test matches.

Was it reiko whose quick throw managed to go over Jordie? Jordie ain’t exactly short either. Or was it Reece?

Was it any of the other players who committed the numerous egregious plays by the brothers Barrett? Or was it actually them?

Think it was BB, but not sure. It was Reiko who ran a bad line after that though. Instead of doing a Damien and cutting across the Oz defensive line to where we had spare players he ran straight into the into middle of it, completely surrounded and isolated.

Just wait until we come across quality opposition, then you will see some record backward speed. Our tight 5 needs a lot of work. We would seriously struggle against south africa, france, england

This NZ team gets humped in Dublin , London and Paris id say. There is something not quite right about it and ive been saying it even after the victories. Its a bit helter skelter. Individual brilliance getting them over the line as opposed to a "black machine" in action.

Jordie Barrett is one of the more senior members of the backline today ffs.

Don't put that down to Jordie, you numpty, that was all Scott Barrett's utter and completely unnecessary fukwittery. Otherwise I agree, it's more of the same from the Hansen era, there's guys trying their hearts out and playing well, but not a lot of team play out there. The Common denominator is Foster.

Anyway, well done Wobs.

Eh? I thought Jordie had a decent game. Im just saying him being a senior back line player these days is indicative of where we are at.

A number of AB fans savaged Richie Mo'unga after the first two Bledisloe Cup tests. Posters like Dan 54 and Couch. I look forward to reading their appraisal of Beaudan Barrett's performance tonight. In my opinion he was terrible. He created nothing, made mistakes and forced players around him to make mistakes. He generally stifled our entire backline. I can't remember the last time our backline produced less in attack on a dry track.

PS - Did 170cm Ngani Laumpae do anything against a rookie midfield?

The red card certainly didn't help, and I liked that Sam Kane explained the AB's response as 'solution-based,' and left little time for 'gameplans.' Maybe some naivety in not having an 'injury break' or two to get some clarity?

I guess too that RMo will be sleeping well tonight!

Things haven't been right since 2017... thankfully SA are staying in the RC going forward else you fear for the All Black pack against the heavyweights... though Rennie may sort out the Aussie pack to bring a more physical edge which will help NZ...

Though today's team had a lot of changes, and the red card changed dynamics, the pack was still full of experienced players,... the tight five just doesn't look tight enough...

Agree re Perenara - and Reece has always been dumb. I still recall when he cost the Naki the Ranfurly Shield with an unnecessary late shot.

That quick throw about 3 feet over a leaping Jordie Barrett was dumb when we had the lead - headless chook stuff. They scored after the resulting ruck.

The Perenara / Barrett experiment is still going on after 5 years. How the hell did the Crusaders win anything with that pair leading the attack? I asked for consistency from Mo'unga but we have it in Barrett now - the wrong sort.

It was a game screaming out for control but when Barrett got involved, he often made things worse. There is a misconception in some quarters of the media and amongst Barrett defenders that his game management is a strength over Mo’unga. If that was the case, last night would have been a great opportunity to show it.

Yes it was a messy game but that doesn’t mean we can’t judge Barrett’s performance as some suggest. It would be harsh to say that Barrett lost us the game but that doesn’t mean we can’t honestly answer the question of whether we would have been more likely to win with Mo’unga. I think that is a clear ‘yes’.

 Show me where I ravaged Mounga you lying prick. I along with many said he didn't play well. I really in your head and you must lie there at night imagining I supposedly wrote. I hope you can sleep better after you have thought of me
I thought BB had a shit of a game last night (by the way I not ravaging him), thought the whole inside backs looked pretty ordinary. But as I said in first test let's give credit tp Wallabies, and not sure why some can't,they created mayhem around the breakdown and I can't think of one back who looked very good. Outside of Cane and Savea I wondered about our forwards a bit too, though to gave credit I thought Akira was going pretty well until he was taken off.
I not overly upset all in all we have seen some points shown that I would rather see now than in a couple more years. Lumpy really ok player ,but at test level it ends to be harder when defence is waiting for you, and him and ALB just didn't seem to really connect in defence. Will Jordan really has to learn to tackle a big wing don't just throw yourself in front of him, I know he not a great tackler, but using that technique he will get injured an awful lot more. We needed to score a try when we got those penalties before haftime, and was a little surprised that Sam (was it him) let the Wallaby jumper get in front of him, one man I usually put money on is him not to let that happen!

Sadly, I doubt that Foster will ever allow Mo'unga the opportunity to settle into the 10 jersey. Foster will constantly chop and change between Mo'unga and BB, rotating out of desperation and hope that Barrett will one day turn into a world class first five. The fact that we're still having this debate, after Mo'unga has led teams to 4 x SR titles and 5 x provincial titles, just shows that the AB selectors will never give Mo'unga a decent shot at first five. Because they are deeply in love with the Barretts.

You’ve jumped the shark mate. Mo’unga has started every game this year that mattered. He is Fosters first pick and this is indisputable. This was a chance to get a bit of rotation in the team and BB at ten was one of many “not the best we have” picks.

I know you like developing your narratives but a little subtlety would go a long way.

How do you think Beauden Barrett played last night and how do you think the Barrett/Laumape combination went against the rookie Wallaby 10/12/13 axis?
