Electricity is a mystery to me but surely the charging cable isn’t at mains voltage. I do realise that propping an electric fire on the edge of the bath isn’t a good idea even if I have suggested it to Ms GL on occasions.
Lifted it from google which pointed here. But looks old.

Even so, if 2.4 A in newer chargers, is 12 Watts. Its very low compare to mains 230V 10A. 2300 Watts.
Plus the charge would be distributed throughout the bath in a parallel way direct through water, line of least resistance to take pro rata current.

Along with the lack of power to deliver lethal blow, it’s not like a situation with electrical probes on either side of the bath the current needs to flow between. Just straight A to B in the charging lead ends. And would be neutral to ground/earth on the bath and hence no voltage between there.

The only way it could kill you is if the charger's internals were faulty and the separation between input and output voltage was breached if the charger was not in the water. Not clear from the one article I read if the charger fell into the bath too: that would take the mains element into contact with water.
Terrible waste:

A bit of a tickle is all she would have got. I suspect some novichok.

I love watching little children running and screaming, playing hide and seek in the playground.

I suspect she was using a cheap Chinese fake charger. Studies have shown these can be dangerous.Torquemada 1420 wrote: Fri Dec 11, 2020 9:54 am The only way it could kill you is if the charger's internals were faulty and the separation between input and output voltage was breached if the charger was not in the water. 64 chargers tested as part of this study,
• 63 (98%) failed one or more of the mechanical and electrical tests, meaning that they are highly unsuitable for use.
• In many cases, these chargers could overheat, catch fire, and deliver a potentially lethal electric shock to consumers while in normal use.
Over half of the chargers failed the electric strength test. Adequate insulation and creepage distances are critical to prevent users from coming into contact with potentially harmful voltages and currents over the lifetime of the product. A breakdown of the insulation barrier, as observed for 37 samples in this investigation, has the potential to result in the USB output voltage (normally 5 Volts) rising to mains voltage (around 240 Volts) presenting a real and unnecessary risk of fire and electric shock.

Do we know if her last selfie survived the dip?

It's the current/ampage that kills, not the voltage. People have survived thousands of volts.GogLais wrote: Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:41 pm Electricity is a mystery to me but surely the charging cable isn’t at mains voltage. Far from an expert in electricity (despite being responsible for 38kv transformers and circuit breakers in work) but it can happen if the charger is crap and doesn't transform to a lower voltage properly.GogLais wrote: Thu Dec 10, 2020 2:41 pm Electricity is a mystery to me but surely the charging cable isn’t at mains voltage. Also Russian safety standards would be poor. Was the place fitted with RCD's?

As most have said 5V wouldn’t do it. Current is a ratio of voltage, and ...
If this story is true it’s only really possible if the 5V side was somehow became directly connected to the phase of the 230V. And the bath then became the ground for the full whack.

As a rule of thumb you need at least 40V to die. Maybe she was using a bootleg charger?Ymx wrote: Sat Dec 12, 2020 7:50 pm As most have said 5V wouldn’t do it. Current is a ratio of voltage, and ...

Also unless it's been modernised, she was probably using 60s era Soviet electrical safety levels

Rather like the fred title, Enz has a point. The price was terrible but taking any kind of wired electricity into a bath tub is some level of dumb.Ymx wrote: Sun Dec 13, 2020 7:59 am Blimey Enz. That’s some dark thoughts considering the alleged situation.

Not dissimilar was some bimbo leaning out of a car window wearing a bikini, doing a selfie whilst being driven along a road with a pretty view behind. Was busy looking at phone and didn’t notice the roadsign that they had veered a bit too close to - splat !
Edit - I recalled it a bit inaccurately , but the tits out & her dying part were spot on - was another Russian ! They are bonkers

It is actually a picture of one of those who died in a 'medical event', at the coup attempt; but all we know is that it's been reported as a heart attack

I was juror on case against him not long ago in High Court Edinburgh. He was accused of trying to kill a fellow drug crook by ramming his car at high speed etc around Granton/Ferry Road area. First time I learnt what an 'Osman' was - warning your life is in immediate danger. The case collapsed after a few days as the prosecution key witness withdrew her statement made on the day of the crime, pretty obvious that she/family had been 'got at' by someone. He was, as Blackmac suggests, a nasty piece of shit and tbh this was always an inevitable outcome, it was just a matter of when not if. Case opened my middle class eyes to the organized crime scene in Embra though - Rebus isn't that far off the truth!Blackmac wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:48 am https://metro.co.uk/2024/01/02/gangster ... -20053762/

Edinburgh criminals have not been nearly as violent as their Glasgow counterparts and shootings are rare. Webley, and the lads I'm pretty sure were behind this, all grew up together and were initially mates. They took over the north side of Edinburgh from the old Drylaw Team who were more old school and not as prone to violence as the young lads. Most of them are too thick and too hands on to avoid getting caught for one thing or another and have spent most of their adult lives in jail.
The police quietly love these types of crimes which we refer to as "two for the price of one" murders as we get two shit stains off the street.
