Showing for me as well.

I mentioned a few weeks back that I plan to travel to NZ in the New Year. As a dual citizen I am obliged to seek an exemption from the Australian government to travel under the current ban on overseas travel. One of the qualifiers for exemption is residency in another country...

They refused my request to travel home, where I live permanently, in the one country even safer than this.

The miserable cunts.

I'm reading on twitter that there have been two more cases of community infection in NSW, in the Northern Beaches and not linked to the single case announced earlier today. This is how 2nd waves start!

Yeah. It is. They claim to want to open up travel but the national penchant for punitive policy trips them at the first hurdle.

My good mate has a spot booked in managed iso for January. He lucked into finding a cancelled date on the website.

I’m the last one left. The company is still providing a hotel room for me, for which I am truly grateful..

But I’m exhausted and savagely over it all. I need to go home, switch off and rest. Then I’m going to pack up my life again and move to Adelaide for a couple of years to see this through. Having a decent pay packet is worth holding onto.

Fucking 2020. Would not bang.

Two new cases found on Sydney's northern beaches. This brings the total number of cases found in the NSW community (not in hotel quarantine) to five over the past 24 hours. Small numbers compared to other countries globally, but a veritable 3rd wave within the Australian context.

Beers with Snaps has been a lifesaver.

You have to find the positives and all that... but I can’t find the words for the desolation and heartache this year has delivered. I’m just over it all.

This outbreak in Sydney will delay any trans Tasman border openings. Sounds like an older couple just ignored the isolation instructions and carried on with their lives regardless.

Cunts.

Having spent the last 6 months relentlessly praising the NSW government for being the "gold standard" when it comes to COVID-19 management, I'm sure News ltd will find a way to blame the state ALP opposition if there is an outbreak. Or better blame yet Dan Andrews.

Scott Morrison in a surprising show of faith for Liberal-led NSW.
Speaking alongside the Premier in Woodburn, south of Lismore, Prime Minister Scott Morrison backed the coronavirus response of the Berejiklian government and took a swipe at other states.

“NSW is the gold standard,” he said. “I don’t spend too much time worrying about NSW.”

He said the state’s “ability to stand and remain open during the crisis of 2020 had an immeasurable benefit to the national economy.

“Where other states faltered, NSW stood very strong,” the Prime Minister said.

Aged care worker among new COVID-19 cases in Sydney

An aged care worker is among two new coronavirus cases diagnosed on Sydney's Northern Beaches overnight, bringing the number of confirmed infections in the area over the past 24 hours to four.

The aged care worker is a woman who works at Pittwater Palms, a retirement village in Avalon. A number of aged care homes on Sydney's Northern Beaches will be closed to visitors while health authorities scramble to determine the source of four new COVID-19 infections.

The second is a man from Frenchs Forest, who is in a band and played at multiple venues while infectious, including in Penrith in Sydney's west.

The new infections followed three locally transmitted cases in Sydney yesterday, including another two on the Northern Beaches.

Those cases were a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s who visited multiple locations while potentially infectious.

Investigations into the four cases diagnosed are ongoing, however they are believed to be linked.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian today urged anyone from the area who feels ill to get tested.

"I encourage everybody with the mildest symptoms on the Northern Beaches to get testing," she said.

"We have seen an increase in testing overnight.
"We want to get on top of this and don't want this concerning us in the last few days before Christmas and urging everyone to be as vigilant as ever."

Almost a dozen locations around the Northern Beaches are listed as locations of concern by NSW Health with anyone who visited the listed locations told to get tested immediately.

There will also be a temporary closure of some Northern Beaches nursing homes until contact tracers are able to identify the source of the new infections.

Seven of the listed venues require people to isolate for 14 days regardless of whether a negative result is received meaning hundreds of people could be spending Christmas in isolation.

These venues include:

Hungry Ghost Café, Avalon – Sunday December 13 between 9.30am-11am and Tuesday, December 15 between 9.30-11am

Sneaky Grind Café, Avalon Beach – Monday December 14 between 9.30am-11am

Barramee Thai Massage and Spa, Avalon Beach – Monday December 14 between 2pm-3.30pm

Bangkok Sidewalk Restaurant, Avalon Beach – Monday December 14 between 7pm-8pm

Avalon Bowlo, Avalon Beach – Sunday December 13 between 5pm-7pm and Tuesday December 15 3pm-5pm

Palm Beach female change rooms – Sunday December 13 between 9am-9.15am

Coast Palm Beach Café, Palm Beach – Sunday December 13 between 10am-11am

There will also now be an anxious wait over possible border closures ahead of the Christmas period.

Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan has said the state's hard border with NSW could return.

The recent Sydney cases could put thousands of holiday plans in jeopardy.

There have been many uproven claims that the NSW has consistently understated its COVID-19 cases. This mini outbreak will be a test. It beggars belief that there won't be more community transmission, and it will be interesting to see if NSW Health are open and transparent about the spread.

Gold standard...
NSW Health says the Northern Beaches COVID-19 cluster has grown to 17 cases.

As contact tracers work to keep up with cases, NSW Health has urged all residents within the Northern Beaches local government area to stay at home.

Residents have been advised to remain at home "as much as possible", keep to their household group and avoid all unnecessary gatherings.

They are also urged to avoid unnecessary travel outside the Northern Beaches area.

In response to the growing cluster, Queensland and Western Australia have imposed new restrictions.

From midday tomorrow, anyone who has been in the Northern Beaches region since December 11 will not be able to visit Queensland residential aged care centres, hospitals or correctional facilities.

The Western Australian Government says anyone who has been in NSW since December 11 must get tested and self-isolate.

I hope I am wrong, but I have a bad feeling that Scott Morrison may regret coining the term "gold standard".

No, they are not. You are the miserable cunt.

Decide where you want to live "permanently", and go there to stay. You have been in Oz for almost 30 years. If you'd rather, as you have repeatedly said, live in NZ, then why don't you permanently go there?

If you no longer wish to live in the Commonwealth, collecting high $ mining industry FIFO employee salary - whilst pretending to be a greenie - then do it. Leave. Go back to Christchurch. If your permanent home is NZ, then by all means, please leave this country you profess so much hate for, and don't come back.

You want to have your cake and eat it, and you are throwing your toys out of the cot. Typical toxic grub behaviour.

Wife and I just got back from a week up at Newport, have to admit coming from Victoria it was quite a shock to see supermarkets and restaurants packed, nobody wearing masks and no real social distancing to speak of. Pretty happy to be to be back in Victoria. The one thing I did like was the QR code thingy at most businesses but not everyone bothered with it and it did seem to be voluntary wether you checked in or not.

No - wrong - this is a case of the little grub SM asserting he somehow requires special treatment. Which he does not. He lives in Oz, he goes for holidays to NZ and he's being doing it for near 40 years. To turn around now and say he is a NZ permanent resident to queue jump is selfish bullshit.

Second, he portrays himself as some sort of victim of the popularly elected government of the Commonwealth. Also a nonsense. He should have a cry, drink some cement and realise he can get with the program - or not - its his choice.

His political victim syndrome whining is pathetic.

You fucking silly cunt... is it the height disadvantage that makes you so bitter and stupid or just the wine?

I lived in Australia for 33 years. After losing my job through injury and punitive workers compensation law, during which I had taken leave to nurse my terminally ill mother through to the point she had to go into care for her final weeks, I made the decision to move back to NZ, something I did two years ago. 6 months later I started work in South Australia, commuting from Auckland on a two week in, one off basis. Once Covid 19 hit and borders were closed I was stuck in South Australia, having decided like others to see it out. I’ve since made the painful decision to once again uproot my life and move back to Australia to live pending my ability to return to NZ and finalise those arrangements... something the backwards looking Federal government is in able to allow due to my dual citizenship and their current policy of banning travel overseas for anyone not trying to take over the Chair of the OECD.

For a supposed Barrister, you are spectacularly shit at familiarising yourself of the details of a case before pronouncing your wordy and inflated opinion on it.

You pissant.
Well now, that is certainly a detailed response.

You seem emotionally upset, and yes I get it - I recently quoted your 2017 emotional rant on the other board, which was I think affected by your mother's illness, where you dissed Australia big time. And the Oz posters were so nice to you. Even though you just trashed their country.

So, would I be correct in understanding that you think it's a wrongful thing to use a person's vulnerable emotional condition to quote them, press their buttons and troll them?

I mean, gee, you'd never use a current event and heightened emotions to troll people.

Would you?

I’m just a little bored with your never ending pursuit of me across two boards and the repetitive droning of the word grub you favour... something I admit to finding highly amusing seeing as you run around so much closer to the ground than I do.

The Martin Place siege was a trying time for many of us. We all had our various reactions to it, particularly in real time. You appear to have been unable to let go and move on from that event, preferring to continue to try and make it about you as you did on the night. I called you on that.

Perhaps, given hindsight and the heat of moment, it was harsh of me to call you on it at the time... but your continued and dedicated pursuit of me since, your childish and indulgent agenda of trying to slight me, your constant attempts to gain my attention through that campaign suggest to me that I read you right at the time... losing a colleague in any sort of mishap is awful. Using that to further a personal agenda is sad.

Get over yourself man. Grow up.

And your angry reaction to this conversation has certainly been a dish best served cold.

Let Snapper or Mat know if a contribution will help get you out of the Commonwealth and back to NZ a bit a quicker, I'll throw some $ in.

Goodbye, you are dismissed.
