Just watching cooking programmes and thought I would try a fred on stuff these chefs go on about that I really don't want anywhere near my plate.
After considering celery and broad beans, I'm going to go for olive oil. Vile stuff I wouldn't deworm the dog with.
Mrs Guest has suggested avocados, with which I can only concur.

I can't think of any food I actively would never touch except, even if I was on a dinner date with the most gorgeous woman in the world (who happened to be a grower and lover of such produce), Beetroot.
Don't know why.

vegeterian dishes & recipes and in particualr anything 'fake' veggies, like veggies burgers and sausages.
All my meals require the main portion is derived from a dead animal.

Mushy peas are an abomination and I would thoroughly support re-education camps for anyone who favours them.
Complete waste of a vegetable.
Any offal, sweetbreads etc. The smell of my wife making stock makes me gag and leave the house.
In saying that, just been given a massive black pudding (massive) which I don’t mind but not greatly keen on. Any recipes to make it nice?

Agreed re boiled fish, I don’t like the idea of whole fish soups and stews full of bones and skin. Agreed re the awfulness of sprouts as well.Glaston wrote: Sat Jan 09, 2021 3:13 pm Quite a few Pacific Island veggies are done in coconut milk.
I hate them all.
Boiled fish ugh!
Never been fond of radish
I cant eat uncooked green bell peppers, just kills my guts.
Oh and tripe as well, smells of dead sheep,
A fresh squid tube halved, scored, dressed in olive oil, chilli and garlic then briefly seared over very hot charcoal is delicious. Pre-prepared calamari rings not so much.
I was given some last week and don't like food waste so explored options. It took a long time, but broiled them in the oven at a lower temp, after brushing with a bit of oil and dashing with salt, until crispy. Really nice.
Also useful when baked into stuff - zucchini bread (really a sweet loaf with nuts, choc chips, etc) is something my gran used to make a lot. Allows you to pretend you're getting some vitamins.
Even better in a squid ink risottoUn Pilier wrote: Sat Jan 09, 2021 6:32 pmA fresh squid tube halved, scored, dressed in olive oil, chilli and garlic then briefly seared over very hot charcoal is delicious. Pre-prepared calamari rings not so much.

Sushi.
I like most cuisines, but sushi is just bland and horrible and cold. And if it does have flavour, it's often too much vinegary
