That's that, then.

Off to Karachi next.

The Lankans go back to take on England.

Did I read that some England players had tested positive for the lurgey? No doubt that will be blamed on Capetown.

Nope, Moeen was Covid-free in England but tested positive on landing in Sri Lanka. Filthy Heathrow.

Australia have won the toss and are batting in the third test. Warner won’t be making a difference in this innings at least, he has gone cheaply.

Four fucking run-outs in India's first innings.

Hmm... :problem:

Wonder if the world's greatest allrounder Cameron "Baggy" Green can improve on his highly promising first innings performance.

That LBW is typical of so many calls in Oz. It means the umpires calls all go in favour of them but that shout wasn't even that close.

Conflicted. Australia winning is better for NZ qualifying for the WTC final. On the other hand, it would be extremely funny to watch them lose from here.

Won't happen though.

A close Australian victory so that we get to see them squirm could be best case.

Ideally for NZ whoever wins the series does so 3-1. That means either India have to beat England 4-0 or Aus have to beat SA 3-0.

That probably does away with any thought of a win for India anyway. Last two recognised batsman in now with Jadeja injured and the new ball due. Shame for Pant - you can say silly shot, but it got him that far...

Have to think an India win is out of the equation now. 127 in 36 overs in the final session = 3.5 an over. Hard to do when Vihari can't run and it's just the tail to come.

One more for Aus and it could all happen quite quickly. Jadeja with a broken thumb, then the tail who all have first class averages under 10.

I see Steve Smith is copping flak again - caught on camera scratching out the batsman’s guard markings during a drinks break.

Stupid, unnecessary stuff. Not in the spirit of the game. Always came off as a petulant captain. Still remember his post match interview after an ODI in NZ in 2016 - the controversial Mitch Marsh dismissal. Came off as a sulky schoolkid, so this is in character.

Compare the way he carried on after his first innings ton to Williamson's reaction to his double the other day. Just not a good look.

On the actual game, it's certainly going down to the wire. Still think Australia get one and it could all happen quickly. Jadeja with a fractured thumb and then some genuine tail enders to come. Then again, 126 balls with 5 wickets in hand doesn't sound like that many...

Shame Vihari can't run otherwise this would be very interesting. Few more singles from him and you'd be looking at ~85 off 90 balls with 5 wickets in hand.

Paine showing his true colours now too. "I've got more Indian friends than you do", "At least my team mates like me, dickhead" to Ashwin. Schoolyard stuff.

Well done India - can't say I wanted them to win at the start of the match but that fight was magnificent.

India held on five down.

Steve Smith disgraced himself again and Tim Paine dropped three catches.

Fuck me all his crying in front of camera, and still he proves he doesn't understand sportsmanship. I know it may not of helped BCs, but I really stoked that Indians held on.

2nd offence in 2 years. 3 year ban should be about right.

Seen on Twitter one of the funnier exchanges between Paine and Ashwin:

Paine: "Can't wait to see you at the Gabba"
Ashwin: "Can't wait to see you in India, it'll be your last series"

Heckuva job there Timmy

Rather than worry about the Australian Test Cricket Team perhaps a more pertinent use of your time and energy would be best directed to the Coronavirus thread.

There I'm sure you could regale us with how the UK response and organisation has been the Greatest of Greatest.......

Slightest hint of pressure and they revert to type. Any talk of turning a corner culturally was just that. Soon as the cameras stop rolling on that documentary they're back to normal.

Didn't spot Wade's antics but that's no better.
