Nine balls later he’s on 69.mrbrownstone wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:28 am Does Fulton realise this is a charity match, not a test? Swing the bat and have a bit of fun, or get out. No one wants to see 25 (32).
Edit: but has become bogged down with three dot ball in a row

Brilliant, mate.

Why are they playing on the girls' boundaries?

There's honestly an argument that Vettori is still our best spinner watching that. A comment on his class and our dearth of spinners. If he didn't have to bat or field he could probably still play cricket to a high level. I guess you don't lose a lot running in off four steps.

What are England doing with Perera on strike for the final ball of Wood’s over. Fielders all left deep in the boundary and it’s an easy single.

And then he holes out to square leg. No celebration from the England players at all.

And there goes Sibley for a duck. Did not look comfortable at all against the spin.
Edit: and Bairstow doesn’t look any more comfortable.

Probably better suited to the Engerlund Vs Plucky Sri Lankans thread...
Just announced this morning:
1st Test England vs New Zealand - Lords 2-6 June 2021
2nd Test England vs New Zealand - Edgbaston 10-14 June 2021
The eagle eyed will be aware this is a massive coup for NZ Cricket as the ICC Test championship final is at Lords on 18-22 June 2021, great chance for the BC's to come in with form, well settled and with ground experience on their side.

Spark already has the rights to all ECB cricket to 2024 sadly. But the ICC final will be on Sky as its an ICC match, crazy I know......

Fantastic news. Good to see someone at NZC has learned their lesson from the disastrous Australia tour where we were caught short with no warm up.JPNZ wrote: Mon Jan 25, 2021 7:06 pm Just announced this morning:

Even if we miss the WTC final that's an exciting series, as we haven't played away in England in 6 years. Williamson and Boult have only played 4 tests in England over their careers, so it's a rare opportunity.
I thought Spark only had the right to International cricket played locally and that Sky had all international cricket played overseas?
I thought that as well but then in June last year Spark bid for and won the rights from Sky NZ. So all english cricket including their T20 domestic series and tests are on Spark. Sky has International fixtures played in Australia, India, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Additionally, the Australian competitions, Sheffield Shield, Matador BBQs One-Day Cup, Big Bash League and Women's Big Bash League. Also, the Indian Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, Pakistan Super League and Global T20 Canada. plus all ICC events World cups etc.Jambanja wrote: Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:01 am

It really is a mess for cricket fans
It really is, Spark's highlight package for the Super smash is unwatchable the quality is that bad, I think there is a very good reason why they are not releasing the viewer figure just yetJPNZ wrote: Tue Jan 26, 2021 1:06 amI thought that as well but then in June last year Spark bid for and won the rights from Sky NZ. Six of that team played in the last T20 vs India. Its a very strong team if you take it on BBL form. Not to be down on NZ Cricket but I think Aus will win 3-2 or 4-1. Aus are ranked 2nd and NZ 6th in T20'sJPNZ wrote: Wed Jan 27, 2021 1:50 am Australia T20 squad to tour New Zealand:

Wow - I just didn't think we'd make it and we'd miss out on the number of people named Karen in the crowd or something.
That's awesome and we get the warm up games as well (If India let us play them)

That's a huge penalty but I hate these 83 over days so "tough to be you, Aussie". Still, India could lose some tests to England so there's a chance for themAustralia were docked points for slow over rates which proved crucial in their final total.
I drink and I forget things.
