What was Dobson thinking? Playing ever absent Kolisi and Klein PSdT and bring Gim Hoofseun Ernst up. All of them passengers. We missed 6 flankers.

This weekend you, ll see Marko winning the CC for the Bulls

Willemse should be given a chance at inside centre and if he fails should be dumped. Swiel still not convincing.

All of our teams lack experience. Cornal Hendricks, Morne, Willem Alberts, Francois Steyn etc really showed there worth. Our teams need to recruit wisely from the diaspora. With Brexit and Covid it looks to be getting easier to do this. I predict the Sharks with their new investors will follow the Bulls example soon.
The thing is, it has been their game plan all season. And to an extent it has worked. The fanatical WP supporters have been telling us all season long that it is Rassies's WC Winning game plan that they are just following. Winning ugly is better than losing. Well sadly Dobson ain't Rassie, they game plan has been very poorly executed against pretty average team to grind out wins and the win % hasn't been that great.

The WP, like most other Unions, need a complete clean out of staff and players.
This was always the WP way, long before Dobson.

Kick for the corners and play in the opposition's 22.

Without Bosch's long range boot it would probably have worked, too.

Stomps turned down 6 kickable penalties to go for the corner with a hooker who can’t hit a barn door. And then try to maul with lazy forwards. Clueless coaching.

Best we went out in the semi final.

Yesterday the Bulls would put 50 up against us. They'll put 50 up against the Sharks in the final.

Quite, Sharks will really need to switch on to avoid turning the positive of making the final from a negative experience that effects the players confidence in future finals, even if the year is a bit of a write-off

All jokes and trolling aside. The WP have such a wealth of talent at their disposal. Why is it that they play such a kak brand of rugby? The game yesterday was a true reflection of the standard of rugby throughout the CC played by the WP. To an extent it is effective, until it is neutralised. WP need a new coach, again.

Not that the Sharks were [much] better. Nor the Bulls.

The team that played the best rugby on the weekend was the Lions. I know hat they are not in the final, but then nor are the WP.

If this is the standard of our rugby, no wonder Rassie pulled out of the tour to Aus.

Surely we are better than this?

Sharks were running away twice from WP. WP ended second. Cheetahs (your team) bliksemed the Sharks in Bloem, The rugby gods will take this into account. You hate WP.
Oom, if you are not a WP fan, you hate WP. We are nobody's second team, we are THE team. I think it's the number of CC titles that we have won.
I'll just leave this here.

The off-the-field stuff clearly had an impact on the field for WP. The smaller Sharks pack really took their big forward pack apart. I can't think of any of their big carriers doing any real damage. Kolisi was completely anonymous.

I would think that the off field stuff hugely impacts on the players.
With the current ban on alcohol they can't even been paid by the old dop system.
Enjoy having Kolisi as your captain later on in the year 😉

Anyways, congrats on the win. Try to back it up in the final. I fear tho that you won't have the legs for the final, you always save your best for WP, that is the making of your season.

This is the biggest takeaway from the entire competition for me.

I excused the slow start, as the NH went through something similar when they restarted. But it's never really picked up since then, and it's not even comparable to the New Zealand SR.

There could be a multitude of reasons:

Lack of crowds that the players couldn't get used to.
Playing at a much hotter time of the year.
Much younger demographic of teams after a world cup year.
Some players recovering from Covid-19 infection.
Very poor refereeing throughout.
A meaningless competition.

Could be a combination of all of the above too.

Sharks had 2.
Sharks are basically a bunch or journeymen.

They should just leave it.
The WP need their team together to train and train and train and train so that they are not so shit the next time that they play.
