It looks better than what will probably be put out on talent alone.
Also looks to fit the supposed style that pivac likes as well which will make it more baffling when G Davies, Biggar and Foxy all start. Sanjay as well when he’s back from the ban.
Certainly was a good win. The centres went well and Myler has been an excellent signing.
The locks were good and Lydiate tackled everything. North back in form will mean a 1/2p, North and Adams back 3. North's defence with people getting on his outside is still there though

Ospreys, for the first time in a long time, looked like a team on a mission. Granted, it was a faltering Connacht side, but the Ospreys went about their work diligently and looked extremely good in patches.
Very enjoyable performance - nice style of play the Ospreys are playing. They were the better side for vast periods of that game, and once they brought on the new props and gained ascendancy there, it looked really good. Backline moves actually looked coherent with everyone on the same page...bit of composure once the line-break had been made and they would have been miles ahead. Brock James looks to be a really good signing. Obviously it helps that some really good youngsters have come through, but Myler aside it's broadly the same side...which goes to show why you're better off spending big money on top coaches.

Why did they go for the corner when another scrum would almost certainly have meant a yellow for one of the Connacht props? They got the try so small gripe but thought it was a strange choice.

I know he scored two tries - a good snipe where the maul had done great work to put them on the front foot - and then one where he was just the last one in a maul to get his hands on it, but was he really that good? I thought there were probably 6 or 7 players I'd have had ahead of him. Anyone else think he was one of the best players on the park apart from the guy who selected him?

Watkin was very good yesterday I thought. Willis needs a few more games to get back up to speed....having said that I feel like Davies does too. He's not looking his best right now.

Davies is done as a player, as are many of the turks snior players. Its not surprise the turks 3 best game sof the year, Bath, Ulster and connacht barely included any of cawdor, 1/2p, sanjay, davies, williams and hardy
Good coaching can make some mediocre players look good by having the team all on the same page, but you can't have too much squad filler in a team at any time, and last year they were frequently sending out teams packed with mediocrity and without an effective game plan. I bet some of those players will 'improve' under Booth. And you can't have a kid like Price running things from 10. A good 10 would have struggled with that turgid game they had, let alone an apprentice. To be fair they did see that and try and sign someone, but went for bargain bin Mckenzie who turned out to be astonishingly bad. Agreed about Beard - those passes to the Connacht players aside he was immense. His maul defence is up there with anyone - utter pest, and deserves his Welsh squad place.
Maybe you're right about the kick to the corner/scrum decision...Murphy might have drummed up an early engage or something...but still think the scrum was the percentage play, especially considering the lineout hadn't been rock solid (admittedly mostly when Parry was on rather than Phillips).
Roberts went off to an English side I think (checks Google - was at Doncaster Knights, now Jersey Reds). Unlucky player.
Patchell commented about this on S4C. Beard looks a hugely improved player, several lovely touches and a good display all round - thought Rhys Davies looked solid too.
KW at centre made a few mistakes, but is clearly a real handful and a great prospect, and Myler's solid unflashy play brought him into play well. Good to see he's going to be hanging around a while longer
Not sure why Webb got MoM - there were probably better candidates (I'd agree with Beard being top of the alternative candidates), but all in all I was massively encouraged
There seemed to be a great sense of camaraderie about the side when the players were joined by Toby Booth on the field after the game too.
Agreed re KW, too small for international level? Shame if that's true. KW runs some beautiful lines and he's clearly hard to put down, but at under 20 level I remember him being quite an adept jackaller, and his sidestep was excellent, so it's possible we've got more to come from him. Mind you, he suffered ankle injuries so perhaps his sidestep isn't quite as dynamic these days?
I'd like to see him around the Welsh squad sooner rather than later...let's find out whether he can make that step up.

Dragons have confirmed the signing of Will Rowlands! I know it's been rumoured to have been a done deal for ages, but still...amazing to have it confirmed. With Ben Carter looking like a real prospect we could finally have a locking combination of quality. If we can keep the likes of Screech, Maksyimw and Joe Davies as squad players, and get Bateman back to fitness, the front 5 will look very promising indeed. Happy days.

Do the Scarlets lads know that the tackle isn't done, until the attackers knee hits the pitch ?
It's obvious in every tackle, the way the Leinster players are getting an extra few feet at every contact, & sometimes they succeed in breaking the tackle entirely. When the contact happens, they pump their legs, & the Scarlets tackler is just passive.
