I hope not. It's much more fun seizing on a minor defensive error and making a big deal out of it for the length of the tournament. What's the Six Nations without tradition?

Can any French boredies fill me in on Aldritt? Last I heard he was going to be injured for a little bit.

He had to attend to a knee exam ... nothing found has shown in the game prior to the exam ...

Thanks, Laurent. As much as I might not want him playing against England it's good for the tournament to have him available.

Jelonch is not a bad Backup

Fair, but he's made a reputation for himself now and it helps engage the many people who watch the 6 Nations, but not much other rugby, when they see names they recognise who are also good players. The level of fan engagement can really shape the tone and mood of the tournament as a whole.

I also think it's good for France to keep one of their top performers involved when others in Ntamack and Vakatawa cant be. Depth is important, but familiarity and strong combinations are too.

Is that line-up of unknowns deliberate or have they got loads of injuries / Covid-restricted absentees?

A very young team, none of the backs have 10 caps, and only 2 of the forwards have 20 caps

I do like the way Johan Meyer has looked for Italy...great powerful runner with ball in hand. Hoping for at least a tight game for a bit.

Ireland playing two Sundays in a row is not good for work on Monday :(

This, unfortunately. Will be delighted if proven wrong, but teams not having played together for a while plus February weather tends to result in a fairly dour first 2 - 3 rounds.

think saint's scrores are probably closest.

I am hoping for;
A Mogg type metdown during a game from a certain poster during the France game.
Ireland & Wales to get back to some type of form.
Italy to not drop the ball after every 4th phase.
England to open with a fluid and exciting manner of play, fast delivery from the scrum half, perfect tackling technique from our number 10 and wings constantly brought into the game from the first minutes on.

Here we go

Italy 12 - 28 France
Wales 15 - 25 Ireland
England 22 - 23 Scotland

I very much doubt the last one though.

Surprised by some of these high Wales - Ireland scores. I reckon the winning team will just creep over 20 points in a dour, almost try free affair.

The best things about the fans not being there, we know why these guys are athletes and not singers

How is that a deliberate knock on? And if it is deliberate why no yellow card?
