I don't think we'll win today, but I woke up feeling like a kid at Christmas. I've not been arsed really, no crowds etc. But now it's upon us I can't sit still. Too early for a beer?

Maitland only has another year or two at most left in him at the very top (32 this year I think) and will be a declining force soon. Jones will inevitably prove himself to be one of Europe’s premier outside centres as soon as he leaves Glasgow. On that basis we might see this back line soon enough.
Incidentally, I’m 99% sure I saw Darcy cutting about in the footage of Scotland training at HQ on the news this morning, hopefully that means he’s in the bubble and will be in contention for the next match.
I’m not really complaining, I think we probably need a steady Maitland out there today and like everyone else just want to see Jones back to his best but understand he’s got to play his way backKingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 9:42 amMaitland only has another year or two at most left in him at the very top (32 this year I think) and will be a declining force soon. Whats the craic with this bubble pish? They seem to be very fluid considering the amount of players who played for their clubs last weekend.KingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 9:42 amMaitland only has another year or two at most left in him at the very top (32 this year I think) and will be a declining force soon. Weird game, England offered nothing, could have won at a canter, but even though the score was close, charge downs aside England were never close to scoring, and the aggressive and frankly organised defence meant anything they could have whipped up was stopped the other side of the 40m line.
One for the "that is a game we would have lost" list.

Gregor Townsend has gone from having Scotland as a really really great attacking team to defensively excellent. All class.
Great performance from every player.

Tandy will have bigger tests but his system has mostly been solid since coming in.I like neeps wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 7:07 pm Gregor Townsend has gone from having Scotland as a really really great attacking team to defensively excellent. All class.

In the first half, when I made the comment, he had carried much harder than I've seen before. Much more aggressive and direct. Definitely didn't notice him as much in the 2nd half.
So I squares up, casual like.
I really like him as the captain.
Just to please any lurking haters - Lions captain in waiting

Fuck yes. Johnny gray was immense, and allowed us to keep knocking them back. Hogg really seems to lead the side well.
Fuck I was 17 last time we won there. Can we play the all blacks soon please. Beat them and I'll die happy

A much more measured review in the coming days I’m sure, but by god that was good, even with half backs having a very dodgy game.
So pleased for Townsend and Hogg. Fagerson was great after I’d bashed him a bit, Jonny was the player her should be. Redpath is a fucking star. I actually giggled like a girl when Kebble and Nel strolled on to finish the demolition.
England were shite, but we made them shite.
Over to you, Warren.

Wee Jonny was terrific, maybe his best game for Scotland, he has really improved his carrying
Apart from the Price/Itoje issue I thought Price had a good game but really couldn't fault anyone in the squad. Cam Redpath slotted in well, just the all round excellent performance that we knew this squad of players are capable of playing but have repeatedly failed to deliver.
I agree, I’ve never doubted his captaincy and so pleased that this result will ensure he is remembered as one of our greats

It's so Scotland the one year we make the statement away win is the year the lions are cancelled haha.Slick wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 7:24 pm A much more measured review in the coming days I’m sure, but by god that was good, even with half backs having a very dodgy game.

Jonny Gray was better than I've ever seen, Redpath is outstanding that pass to Turner for the try. Also Turner was unreal too. And Duhan I didn't think he'd body ensnf starters like he does Pro14 second stringers.
England were poor, you have to wonder why they played the Sarries lads. Billy Vunipola was anonymous apart from his yellow.
I'm telling you. For the rest of today because we are all in a good mood. Hoggy for Lions captain. Farrell is shite, AWJ is old and Itoje is best left to get on with his game as he lives on the edge.
Finn for Lions starter, even on an off day he orchestrates a win over the defending championsBig D wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 7:29 pmI'm telling you. But the lions are picked by garland so he watched heroic English defence.

Our tackle completion was better

Tandy is Welsh so he'll make up the Scotland contingent.Tichtheid wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 7:40 pmAnd 1 guest wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 7:37 pm But the lions are picked by garland so he watched heroic English defence.
