Game over already, then?JPNZ wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:33 am What this shows to me is how much better the BBL is compared to the rubbish that is NZ’s Super smash.
We will never compete well until our domestic series is at a higher level OR we play more T20s away from home.

Yup, take our top 15-20 players out on international duties and the depth in domestic cricket is shocking. A team in the BBL a la the Warriors or Breakers would be great, but don't see it happening.
Shows how great Australia's depth is too. Imagine us trying to field a team minus Kane, Conway, Boult, Southee, and Jamieson, like Australia here missing Warner, Smith, Starc, Cummins, Hazlewood.
Not quite yet but it’s not a good start. Well before this match I predicted Aus would win. Anyone who watched any BBL this season will know this Australian team is stacked full of talent.

Why would we accept you into the BBL. Create your own decent comp you bunch of freeloaders. It's an Australian competion. We already generously accept Kiwi teams into a number of our National Comps.mrbrownstone wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:41 amJPNZ wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:33 am What this shows to me is how much better the BBL is compared to the rubbish that is NZ’s Super smash.

You on the other hand......
We gave you Rennie and kept Foster for ourselves. Don’t come around here suggesting we do nothing for you.Green light echo wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:58 amWhy would we accept you into the BBL. You didn't give us Rennie. You were too nepotistic and stupid to take him.Jb1981 wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 7:07 amWe gave you Rennie and kept Foster for ourselves. As I said create your own competitive comp, and stop freeloading off Australia.

Gee Conway looks a real find. Must find a spot for him in the ODI and test teams somewhere.
It's a great recovery, but still not convinced this is a safe score. Plenty of firepower for Aus to track this down. Puts us in the game at least.

Pitch got good and we cashed in. But reckon the Aussies will chase this down.
As for Guptil - time for him to go - at least the T20 format. And not in a feck off kind of way....in a thanks for everything you've given to the team kind of way. There is no doubting that he has given NZ some of thier finest moments - but everything moves on and it would be a shame if stayed around ruining his reputation.
Big fielding effort needed from the lads.

Indeed. And when NZ rugby offered you three times as many teams in its competition, you had a fissy fit about unequal and unfair treatment...Green light echo wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 6:58 amWhy would we accept you into the BBL. That was just the eden Park marketing department to make sure all games go down to the wire. I hopeKiwias wrote: Mon Feb 22, 2021 8:20 am I want to see the back of Stoinis. I still have nightmares about his century in the ODI at Eden Park five years ago.

Good fielding and bowling effort from the lads.
Watching Boult and Southee bowl in tandem like that is a thing of beauty.

Aus win the toss and bowl again. Both teams unchanged. Orientation week in Dunedin so hopefully the crowd give the Aussies hell in the field.
