175cm and was around 100kg, so technically obese. I've always been heavily built, so even the health guy at the doctors estimated my weight off by about 15kg, big arse, big hips and big legs, hides the weight well. But my stomach was still getting much bigger than I was happy with.
Started doing the 5/2 diet during the first lockdown, and stuck with it mostly since. Put some more on during christmas, but back on track again now, and tend to be about 90kg. Very inactive though. Once lockdown eases and I can get back to rugby practice I'll start to move plenty more.
Home schooling is also stopping me from more easily exercising with VR, since my "play" space is the lounge, where my son is working during the day, and family watching tv during the evening. That'll be handy cardio once I can play again.

I like porridge, but not every day. In fact I like a very varied choice of foods for all my meals. I've upped the amount of indoor cycling I'm doing during lockdown. I aim to average 7 hrs a week. I'm don't weigh myself but the clothes test says the weight is on the way down. I reckon I have about 15kg to lose to get to what apparently is my ideal weight - I'm 180cm. I don't think I've ever been that weight while an adult.
I'm also not giving up beer. Just trying to reduce the excess calories and let the extra exercise pick up the slack.

Down below 82kg now and clothes getting a bit lose so took a punt and bought a pair of 34" waist jeans today for motivation, just tried them on THEY FIT! None of the usual struggle jumping up and down trying to get the buggers somewhere near my waist, holding breath, lying on the floor trying to fasten them. They just slipped right on with no effort, no muffin top, nothing they fit perfectly next stop 32" by the time I reach my target weight.
Chuffed to bits but feeling a bit "eh? what?....is that it? oh, OK then" just now.

Seem to be hovering around 90kg at the moment, whilst still maintaining the 5/2 diet. However, I've started doing more activity on my VR headset, and whilst the calorie counting software may not be 100% accurate, I'm usually hitting around 500-800 calories each day now, so hopefully that'll start to have an effect. Definitely sweating and getting the heart rate up doing it.

Bought some body composition scales and I'm not really sure how accurate they are, but they seem to indicate my fat % dropping and muscle mass increasing, which more or less goes along with what I'm seeing - my waist size is still dropping and clothes are getting a bit looser still

Yeah, I find myself having a bit of an energy slump sometimes, just cut myself some slack but occasionally I really have to kick myself out of the house to go do something. I also seem to have a bit of a plateau every week, I have strictly limited myself to only stepping on the scales on a Monday and a Friday which I find helps. No idea what my calorie intake is but must be less than I'm burning.
Have to say this is where the vr headset has made a big difference for me. Fun silly game that really gets my arms moving. Have now dropped now to 98.5kg, decided i wanted to upgrade my smartwatch from my trusty Galaxy S2 to something more attuned to fitness, have settled for a Garmin Venu, all the reviews are pretty glowing, looking forwards to giving it a crack over the weekend.

However, no. Gorilla tag. Rapidly growing game, very simple concept, and as long as you get an OK lobby, a ton of fun. You can play as chilled or intense as you like, and when you're chasing hard you burn a ton of calories. Free game. On steam for most headsets, but also available on SideQuest so you can play standalone on a Quest/Quest 2. Could probably run it on a potato, but it's so much fun.

Fat cunt reporting for duty. My weight has yo-yoed over the last 2 years. I was 19st 11 in Feb 2019, which was the heaviest I've ever weighed myself at. Can't help thinking I would have been even heavier prior to that. I got down to about 17st 12 by September the same year but by Feb 2020 I was back up to 19st 8 (I'm just under 6'5 tall). I weighed 16st 12 on new year's day just gone which is my lowest for around 15 years, however I've been eating like a fat greedy cunt since then and am currently at 17st 8. I'm naturally quite a skinny twat so really should be 15st max and ideally around 14st I reckon. My weight loss strategy is the same breakfast every day (handful of nuts and raisins, blueberries, banana, Greek yoghurt, psyllium husk), sod all for lunch apart from maybe 1 or 2 small cans of mackerel late in the day, and a generally healthy meal of moderate proportion in the evening. The only rules I gave myself were no sweet stuff (I'm a chocoholic), no processed meals, and no bags of nuts (other than the breakfast stuff). I'm back on all of those things so today I'm putting an end to them. Again.
What I noticed from months of eating this healthier way is that if I mentally embrace that empty/hungry feeling then it's easier. To be honest, from Sept to new year was a piece of piss. I'm very disappointed in myself for letting things go recently.

Not exercising specifically, but my work means when I'm out doing jobs I'm carrying two backpacks weighing just over 30 lb combined and walk for probably 40 to 60 minutes during the day carrying them, plus I'm on my feet for my work as opposed to sitting down. Exercise has been the least of my problems I reckon.

It sounds like you're able to embrace it for a few months, but it's going to be tough to live this way from now until the year dot? Might be worth trying to find something that still lets you have chocolate and a bag of nuts now and then, so you don't feel like you're denying yourself anything, and not feeling constantly hungry? In a bit of a bind as I have developed a hip complaint at the same time I need to exercise and lose weight.
Went and saw the great orthopaedic surgeon John O'Donnell (he of fixed Andy Murray fame) here in Mellers and he is rightfully of the belief it's a relatively minor complaint.
Problem is I need to lose weight at the same time as doing less exercise.
And drinking the same amount of beer.

Is just standing and moving a little a problem? Honestly, try a quest 2 headset and VR, there are experiences that will get you squating and moving, but others where you can be more stable, but still waving your arms around like a lunatic. On Monday morning a slightly ashen version of themselves would say " do you know how many beers you had on the weekend?"
I would say "About 40 units"

I just write off evenings where I go drinking (I am a typical brit twice a month binger in normal times) as is too depressing to calorie count.

I used to run 6-7km pretty much unbroken but suffered discomfort for a few hours afterwards.
It's due to a bit of bone rubbing apparently and a labral tear.
He's supportive of my walking stretches of said distance from now on to take the stress off it.
I don't fancy paying for keyhole surgery which is the other option, though I haven't explored the limits of my private health insurance. It's an off the shelf offering so I expect they would invite me to kindly fuck off.

I'm back on all of those things so today I'm putting an end to them. Again.
What I noticed from months of eating this healthier way is that if I mentally embrace that empty/hungry feeling then it's easier. To be honest, from Sept to new year was a piece of piss. I'm very disappointed in myself for letting things go recently.
This. I'm 6'1" and 14st is tge top end of my "normal" weight - and my GP reckons that is the wrong number for me. You would need to be a natural stick insect at 6'5" for that to be a target weight

If you go by BMI numbers every rugby player would be clinically obese, morbidly so in many cases.
A far better rule of thumb is that your waist measurement should be half your height or less
edit - case in point, I've just put the numbers from Dan Carter's wiki page into a BMI calculator and he comes up as overweight/borderline obese.
