Now let's see it ETNZ can stretch the lead the way they did in Race 2 on Saturday

Commentary on the YouTube coverage is all about the differential in boat speed, focusing on VMG.

Just so good to see us cruise past, take the lead and put distance between the two boats. TV comms talking about sail selection, ETNZ have a much smaller jib than LR.

So that’s the question.

Big upgrade to boat or just the jib ??

So much faster there must be more to it than the job??

They are expecting LR to change jibs to try and find more speed. But that was fecking awesome.

Burling doesn't do the over-excited stuff.

For some reason every time I look at Burling I am reminded of a young Sir Edmund Hillary.

Pete suggested my big difference in their tacks.

Hence why they weren’t being shy switching it up more

A couple clicks for speed there for etnz - less drag on the foils in steeper wind or sail choice for LR?

That worm chart showed the huge dominance in tack. Dropped far less speed than LR. But higher top speed as well.

Good time to be snatching a win. Worst case is now a draw for NZ after today. No boat damage please mockers. Pressure massively on LR to respond to that speed difference.

Only chance is if wind now completely dies and hit time limit. Sad thing to be clinging on to.

Oooooo, what’s happening now. Can’t imagine NZ will be able to stay up more than LR though with the jibs. Unless they pull out the code zero hybrid thing

Heartbreaking for LR but fuck me this is tight. We will sail 25km just to stay on the foils to finish the race. They could even abandon the race if we end up in the water again.
