I hope so. But we can't underestimate the opposition; Welsh, Irish and Scottish rugby is in a good place at the moment.

Will be interesting to see how they fare when they have to travel to SA. Imaging coming from the cold and wet of Newport to the heat and sun of Pretoria. They'll need to blend their fake tan with sun screen.

Some fixtures announced:

https://www.pro14.rugby/latest/pro14/ki ... -confirmed
Rounds 4 to 6 will see the four South African ‘Super’ franchises play their away games in Europe and those fixtures will be confirmed once all appropriate travel approvals have been confirmed by the relevant authorities and governments. This format means that no teams from Europe will travel to South Africa for Guinness Rainbow Cup games.

At least it looks like we will play teams from overseas. I'm a bit over derbies.

Yes, just have to wait until the end of May.

It's a very short competition. I assume next year's one (i.e. 2021/2022) will be much longer.

 At least something to look forward to.

On the plus side, F 1 starting this weekend, I think Moto GP as well.

This "Rainbow Cup" is just a one off excuse for fixtures during COVID similar to what the "Autumn Nations Cup" was. Next year will (hopefully) be a full blown Pro16 - two confs of 8, hom & away in conf and home or away inter conf and then playoffs.

Very important for SA rugby to get some TV money flowing. Cashflow must be a real issue.
