Agreed lots of variations. However as has already been pointed, all of these variations still mean England are fifth.C T wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 11:42 amOr win by 5 but with a try bonus point while denying them a try bonus point.
Loads of ways! Very difficult, difficult ways.

We should get to play a joker, once every three 6 Nations or so, get Bill Mata starting for this one.
As long as France don't get Kolbe.
We are really getting shafted here. These arrangements are 100% to the benefit of France. We’re being set up to lose, the only question being whether we lose by enough to change the destination of the title.

To be honest I don't think it's going to affect us all that much although I would have liked to see Maitland start. I do think it's pretty average that the 6N have negotiated just 5 players though, would it really matter to the integrity of the Premiership if it was 7 or 8, and that's all it would have been anyway. I could see putting maybe a 2 or 3 player limit per club but 7 or 8 spread over all 12 teams, get fucked.

Sounds like the boys are fairly angry. I like how Hogg has made it all about the squad though, and the boys missing out, rather than about the French being fuds. Publicly anyway, it's fairly clear he'd love to let rip, but as he says, doesn't want to create headlines. He's really growing in to the captaincy.

He really is, I was all for making Ritchie captain and giving him a couple of years to get to the level required at the next world cup, but Hogg has, as you say, really stepped up.
It's also good to see Ritchie named as VC.

Ever since he started as captain he has lead the team really well. He went through a rough patch in his form but his leadership is good. I really like his style of captaincy and for many reasons I think he is our best captain in the last number of years. Perhaps back to Jason White.Begbie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 8:13 am https://www.scotsman.com/sport/rugby-un ... ud-3179215

I am still on the Hogg for Lions captain bandwagon, I don't expect him to get it but he should captain some games and it will be on merit IMO.
This is of course another knock on effect of the French COVID idiocy that we are paying for

Fuck points difference, bonus points and all that shit. I would love a Scottish win tonight.
Absolutely the win is priority however I'll be very chuffed with an 8 point win and 2nd place. And 1 guest wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 5:02 pm Fuck points difference, bonus points and all that shit. I would love a Scottish win tonight.
Yeah maybe blue tinted glasses but I think we’re getting the shitty end of the stick. That scrum where we destroyed them - reset, french put in, should have been a penalty to us in front of the posts IMO. Also blatant forward pass, possibly two in the lead up to Hogg’s card.
Yeah, exactly the two main points I’m talking aboutTattie wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 8:56 pmYeah maybe blue tinted glasses but I think we’re getting the shitty end of the stick. There is zero chance that that is a red card. Barnes couldn’t wait to give it, either.

... would have been the 6N title.
These guys are in a good place.
Great way to teach France a lesson so soon after international waffle day.
I'd have bitten your arm off for wins at Twickenham and Paris, two very narrow losses and a thumping of Italy before the tournament started.
So I squares up, casual like.
I will take that. Oh yes, I will take that. Thank you so very much.
Maybe we were a bad penalty call away from the title, but sod it. This has to rank as a good 6N now.
Given we had to play with a handicap because France broke the Covid rules, and then they took the piss about it, I’m very happy to hand the title to Wales. Karmic debt paid for 1999.
