Moral dilemma. .
Would you support/visit a business where you knew the owner was anti vax?
Went for long overdue haircut yesterday and in conversation the barber said she would not be getting the vax as she doesn't trust it. Now considering she's in close contact with people through the day. Would you recommend her?
Especially torn as best haircut I've has for years!..

I love watching little children running and screaming, playing hide and seek in the playground.

I don't know about recommending her but I certainly would not go back.TB63 wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 6:54 am Would you support/visit a business where you knew the owner was anti vax?

Self employed. . No problems there..handyman wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 7:33 am How will you react when your boss or co-workers reveal that they are anti-vax? And to do your job properly means to be in close contact with them from time to time.

Cool. It was more of a question in general to gauge opinions.

I’d call them out on it and announce that I’d rather work from home. I’d bring HR in too.handyman wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 7:33 am How will you react when your boss or co-workers reveal that they are anti-vax? And to do your job properly means to be in close contact with them from time to time.

This. And if it turned out the anti-vax sentiment ran deeper than just my boss, I'd start looking for a new job. I could go a few months without one if need be.Sandstorm wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 7:51 amI’d call them out on it and announce that I’d rather work from home. I rip the pish out of them and their professional opinion. I'm not worried about being in close contact with them.handyman wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 7:33 am How will you react when your boss or co-workers reveal that they are anti-vax? Yep - plenty of other Hairdressers out there - and we've survived without any of them for most of the last year.
I run a Guitar Club, which has been dormant for the last year. I'm just about to get it going again, starting off with some outdoor sessions. Seriously considering making it vaxxed members only when we return to an indoor setting - Assuming everyone has had the option for a vax by then.
I would point blank refuse to be in the same office, especially given Mrs Saint being a district nurse meaning I am potentially a direct conduit to a lot of at risk groups. If anyone wanted to call me out on it I'd get HR involved very quicklyhandyman wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 7:33 am How will you react when your boss or co-workers reveal that they are anti-vax? Methinks probably many more important things to begin worrying about boycott campaigns over.

I work in a government science lab so I doubt we'll have many. If there are any they'll be laughed at for pretending to understand science for a living.handyman wrote: Tue Mar 30, 2021 7:33 am How will you react when your boss or co-workers reveal that they are anti-vax? My point being that children are not been vaccinated.

i don't blame ppl for not trusting the vaccines, the most used vaccine (astra-zeneca) around the world is only75% effective.. this is the problem, so many vaccine makers and none can guarantee you a 100% o r atleast 95% success..we were suppose to learn form the pandemic and yet somehow it became a game between countries on who can "sell" the most vaccines even if it may not be very effective..
astra-zeneca is being brought to fiji and i ain't taking it... fuck off..

Sadly, there are plenty of people, including "Smart" people who are discussing picking and choosing which vaccine to get online.
