Despite playing just one test, Khawaja has now scored more runs in the series than any England batsman except Root.
Wahey!

Why is Pope keeping?
Don't England have Bairstowe and Buttler on the field?
Both have hand injuries and can't keep wicket...

So, with Stokes busted, that's effectively three wickets down.

Buttler - well, won’t make much difference whether he does or not

If England can bat out this 20 overs it will be a nice victory for them.
Australia should have declared earlier yesterday

Man, Boland reminds me of a younger version of Neil Wagner

Great stuff from England. They avoid a white wash. Winning the last test will be nice.

How did Cummings become captain? Seems like a nice guy.

Pretty sure Newlands would have been a sold out for tomorrow's test.

Match day for the decider. I've really enjoyed it so far. My Protea highlights have been Jansen's performances and Bavuma and Elgar's batting. It just shows how much temperament counts for in test cricket. Two limited batsmen who thrive in difficult situations.
Its cloudy and cool here in Cape Town. Maybe a little bit of morning drizzle. But none forecast for the remaining days. Conditions might offer a little bit of assistance to the bowlers in the first session. The Proteas looked undercooked in the first game and look like they are slowly getting into their stride. Hopefully we win the toss and finally get a century on the board from one of the batters.

Batting first is important on Newlands. Usually turn on day 5

45/3 decent work from Maharaj as night watchman.
Markram is a bit doff. a bit of slow learner.

Yes, Markram has been a big disappointment, with his technique and some of the shots he plays, one would expect him to be knocking up big hundreds regularly.
Still, I think it's worth persevering with him.
100 for three at lunch. Can't really quibble at that.

Gutsy 50 from Keegan Petersen. He has a solid temperament on him. Didn't sweat getting beaten by a good attack on a tricky pitch.

Jasper action look suspicious to me. Jansen gone, will be a battle now to get to total.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to only have 6 batsmen worthy of the name, but it doesn't help if two of the top six are out of form.

I have to say this has been a very compelling series. No idea who is going to win this one.

Rabada gets Agarwal.
I must say, watching Olivier terrorise the batsmen with 120kph long hops and get taken for ten runs in that over, I'm a bit baffled by his selection.
