So Newsnight going with the idea that the PCR tests are producing false positives and may be giving us an inaccurate picture of the virus, 0.5% was the rate. That coupled with the massive testing now being carried out will increase the numbers showing as positive . Suggestion that localized lockdowns should be based on the tests as well as what is happening in hospitals.

My one take away from this disaster is the people who wholeheartedly supported kicking the living shit out of the poor, sick and unemployed fir 10 years, sending them to foodbanks, terrorising them and putting them under constant threat of sanctions, , couldn't hack Universal Credit, the bedroom tax and all the other hateful shit themselves.
The government had to pour money straight into their pockets without questions, as most of the country(who supported these polices) would be up in arms about it and never vote Tory again.
What a sanctimonious hypocritical bunch of sickenning resent'tards.
I cannot be here to defend myself 24 hours a day from every single slander and smear.

Severe distrust in the government is driving Israel's cases sky high (relatively). They're of course completely justified in their distrust in general, but unfortunately it's coinciding with something that you do need to take seriously. I suspect you've got the religious doing bugger all different because it's all in gods hands (their kids don't wear bike helmets, play in the road etc), the right wing probably claiming it's a hoax, and the left wing figuring it's all just a power grab. Thankfully most my friends out there are smart enough to hate Bibi whilst still keeping themselves safe.
The usa is still the one that takes the biscuit for me though. Entire states are acting like hotspots in the UK, only without the same level of restrictions (both at hotspot level and in general).

A few years ago I saw two male lions getting it on at Doncaster Wildlife Park. I ushered my kids (who were then about 3 and 6) away fairly quickly.

Slight upside is you can chop any number of onions without side effects. Olfactory system seems to completely shut down.
The Prime Minister has announced four confirmed cases of COVID-19 in one family from an unknown source.
The index case is a person in their 50s who lives in South Auckland.
They were swabbed yesterday, and the swab was processed twice. A second swab, taken today confirms the positive result.
The person has been symptomatic for five days and was interviewed this evening by the Auckland Regional Public Health Service.
The person has no overseas travel history.
As is our usual protocol we are continuing to trace close and casual contacts of this person and test them for COVID-19.
This has included household contacts of the case who received a rapid test this evening. Three of these tests have also come back positive and three are negative.
All close contacts of the four cases will remain in self-isolation for 14 days, regardless of their test result, and all casual contacts will remain in self-isolation until they have the results of their test.
In addition, we are working over the next few days to test all people that are working at our borders and everyone that works at a managed isolation facility.
There will also be no barriers to anyone that has cold and flu symptoms getting tested. Testing is free.
“I’ve said it previously, but it’s even more relevant now, if you are offered a test, please take it", Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said.
In Auckland the four community testing centres in Northcote, Grafton, Henderson and Wiri will be operating with more staff and extra hours. The testing centres in Auckland, Waitemata and Counties Manukau are all prepared for receiving more people. Details will be on our website tonight.
The three DHBs in Auckland are planning pop up clinics over coming days and they will publicise the locations and hours of these clinics.
The Ministry will be working closely with DHBs and primary care around the country to ensure additional testing capacity is available to meet an expected increase in demand.
As we’ve been saying for several weeks, it was inevitable that New Zealand would get another case of community transmission.
We have been working on the basis that it could be at any time – and that time is now.
The health system is well prepared for this eventuality – and the important thing now is that we don’t let the virus spread in our community.
As we did in the early days of this virus emerging, we need to stamp it out.
There are things that every single New Zealander needs to do now:
- Continue stringent hand hygiene
- sneeze and cough into your elbow.
- If you or a family member are unwell stay home and contact Healthline or your GP about getting a test.

Someone always makes a stupid choice, given enough someones. I would say it's too early to be disappointed; the test isn't this happening, that was all but inevitable, it's whether your procedures are good enough to squash it fast.

Was always inevitable, we were warned the whole time it was inevitable too. Short of saying "no planes, no passengers, no one comes here" we have to accept it will slip through.
A recently infected asymptomatic person showing two false negative tests is all it will take. A quarantine worker gets infected and blows into a nightclub, or as alleged, the contents of a refrigerated compartment airshipped in.
Now is the time all those who've been in training and preparation for this very scenario to kick in and solve it while the rest of us just chill out and not spread it any more.
