That's one of those difficult ones where the obvious response is 'should've gotten up in the air to contest', but there'll be bunch of kicks throughout the game where that's not necessary, so players aren't pre-conditioned to get off the ground every time and Kolbe travelled a long way forward from his initial jump point. I'm not sure how Dupont, with his eyes skyward the whole time, is to know he needed to get airborne for that one until Kolbe's right on top of him.

You only get away with that if you jump. Obviously this makes it more dangerous but Rugby isn't a sport that has ever troubled itself with actual thinking.

FAF nails the conversion from the touch line, straight through the middle
“Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that's even remotely true.”
Irrelevant, he was not in a reasonable position to catch the ball. Kolbe had claimed the space, no way could he have competed for it legally.
Who's joking?
Does a player need to leave the ground to be deemed as fairly competing for the ball now? You're not allowed to brace without jumping, even if you're in a good position to catch it? And the guy who comes flying through the air is always the victim? OK, got it.

players and referees make mistakes
Anyone who derides either long after the game is just stupid
pointing out mistakes is okay, saying they are not up to the job is something else - the critics are welcome to try it themselves

Nothing like it
I learned rugby terms in France in a couple of weeks, it's not difficult and not that different from English
Ntamack seemed to be trying to hard to be ‘the’ tactical kicking fly half. As such he kicked bleedin everything.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Nov 12, 2022 9:38 pmI was thinking, why hasn't Jalibert come on yet just before he came trotting onto screen. Already a bit more zip about the French attack with him.
