Watched Episode 2 of Chasing the Sun after some good samaritan uploaded it to YouTube.
It's so good. Amazing to see players away from the usual media exposures. So funny to see a guy like Eben goofing around in the changeroom.
The part where they interviewed Herschel Jantjies' family was incredibly moving. I had no idea he came from such a deprived background.
And when Mapimpi spoke of his wristband gesture during the warm-up game against Japan, and how Rassie explains the impact it had on the team. Fuck me, that was powerful stuff.
Watched it too yesterday on that YouTube Channel. Great documentary. Those bits and interviews with Eben also caught my attention, he seems to be a really nice guy. Never heard him speak before i think.
Other than that it was great to see the psychological built up to the RWC, beginning with Wellington 2018. It all went exactly according to Rassies plan, it is great to see and hear his thoughts on that in hindsight.
Herschels story is fantastic, what bok debut he had. Best part was Eben: "why didnt you score under the posts??"
Great stuff, looking forward to ep. 3.
Rassie didnt look healthy though, hope he is better by now.
