The ABs double banking. Yeah that definitely happened. Wasn't looked at by the TMO. Good luck to the ABs.
Bongis try. It dislodged but he did get it under control before it was grounded. Wasn't referred to the TMO. Good luck boks

Well, not making any changes has always backfired on us, but that is a bit far fetchedOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 6:16 am Will be interesting to see if Rassie is brave enough to make a lot of changes again. We might see Willie, Mapimpi, Am, AE, Moodie, Libbok, Moerat. Escom & Kitshoff.
I do not think there will be that many changes for this game, if big changes are coming up, it will be for the Argentina game, Because if the Boks can win the next game, the Championship is basically theirs.boere wors wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 10:26 amWell, not making any changes has always backfired on us, but that is a bit far fetchedOomStruisbaai wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 6:16 am Will be interesting to see if Rassie is brave enough to make a lot of changes again. Sascha made some mistakes. But his passion and commitment leads me to think we should perseve. It's a good investment. So Pollard will take the bench. He did a decent job at 12 and could comfortably cover 15 too. Nailed in. Libbok is where he shines most. There will be some forced changes already though, Kolisi out with a possible fractured cheekbone, Arendse out with Concussion. Personally I would want Reynach out of the starting lineup, I thought his delivery was very slow yesterday and allowed the AB defense to much time to get to us. So my guess will be 3-4 changes to the starting lineup at most. There might be a small chance that Am and Willie gets a run out.

Agreed, Bongi was great, Marx strangely very quiet.Sandstorm wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:43 pm Reinach and Williams were both very untidy behind the ruck, cost us a lot of momentum. Fassi and Beauden also put in error-strewn performances and made some poor choices.
However the worst aspect was Marx. The lineout went to shit when he came on. Very unusual for him, it’s normally Bongi who can’t throw but he was impressive in the first half.
AB back line looked dangerous and scored some good tries.
Thankfully they don't ask you to rate the players because you are completely an idiotSandstorm wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 12:43 pm Reinach and Williams were both very untidy behind the ruck, cost us a lot of momentum. Fassi and Beauden also put in error-strewn performances and made some poor choices.

Someone made a VLOG of the train trip to the stadium yesterday. I think the new station was a great success and loads of fans used it. Blake wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 8:10 amJa, it's a great initiative. I think the local property owners have realised that they are sitting on a goldmine if they can gentrify the area around the stadium. Lots of opportunity for pubs and restaurants if they can secure the area and manage traffic and people flow away from some of the adjacent areas. The guys from Local Abode are doing great work getting the ball rolling.bok_viking wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 2:50 pm One other good thing for Ellis Park is that they have revamped and re-opened the Ellis Park train station, so you can now use the Gautrain to Park station and jump onto one of the new PRASA trains and get off at Ellis Park. A private initiative started revamping the area around the stadium and the train station. Hope this can continue and more revamping of the wider area around the stadium will continue.
Will be trying out the trip myself instead of driving in and parking around the stadium.
And kudos to Prasa for coming to the party as well by getting the rail line up and running for game days.
It's been a shitshow at Prasa from more than a decade now with a ton of corruption and graft, lack of investment, vandalism and sabotage, and lack of maintenance but it seams like they are finally starting to get their act together and their marketing department is also doing a good job documenting their efforts on social media and Youtube. I really hope they can get the city-bound trains in Cape Town running again to alleviate some of the traffic on the N1 and N2. By all accounts the Simonstown line is pretty decent again now.
Going to be a sunny but very windy day saturday...so great for running rugby. I am not sure how Cape town stadium handles the wind. Newlands used to swirl inside the stadium. So might be a challenge for the kickers.Gumboot wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 5:56 am Apparently the ref in Cape Town will be Matthew Carling.
He was in charge at Twickenham last year when the Boks inflicted that record loss on the ABs. It was a feckin' miserable night for Kiwi supporters. Cane got a YC and Scooter got 2, so upgraded to a Red. And Lomax copped a nasty gash to the knee, causing him to miss the start of the RWC, including our pool loss to France.
And that was just the first half...
It handles the wind surprisingly well but it will have an impact on kicking.
I had 40 to 50 gusts ....so pretty much still the same...hopefully it eases as the match nearsBlake wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 7:53 amIt handles the wind surprisingly well but it will have an impact on kicking.
I remember at the Sevens last year the. wind was howling outside. You had to lean forwards to brace against it, but because the field is recessed it handed it pretty well on the pitch. High up-and-unders, box kicks and goal kicking might be challenging.
What weather forecast are you using? I'm, getting sunny, 17C and winds of 35km/h on mine.

Close enough to the big screen haha. Will record the game as well._Os_ wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 11:37 amThat's what being an accountant gets you, the cheap seats looking through binoculars.
I looked at the prices for the Twickenham match and refused to pay (would've been double that price with travel/food/drink per person). SS went then twerked on here afterwards over seeing the record win.
Feels like everyone on here is going to see the Boks get record wins over the ABs, but not me.handyman wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 11:39 amClose enough to the big screen haha.
