Got to wonder if a few of the younger lads would have been better playing in the under 20’s match against Wales last week to help bolster that squad a bit. Seems like we weakened the under 20’s squad to play out together a development squad to play against an under 23’s team.SomersetJock wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 3:09 pmBelatedly looked at the squad for this - it was pretty young with 20 of them 21 and younger and including one 16 year old (who didn't make the 23) and an 18 year old (Olly Blyth-Lafferty who started and scored). What did the Italy team look like? They were a defined u23 side rather than an emerging side like ours, although looking at the scorers they have a mix of 20 to 23 year olds.KingBlairhorn wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2024 10:42 am [quote=Biffer post_id=384997 time=1734209810 user_id=56]
Lost 24-7. Little bit disappointing.
I know the results aren’t as important as the game-time it gets the lads, but the under 20’s are going into a 6N and building a squad for that should be priority!

I liked the under20s squad, result doesn't matter and a lot of players were given an opportunity to put their hand up to be selected. Sounds like the six nations squad will be selected now to run out vs Wales this weekend.
