Do those stats include extremely early interventions line the morning after pill?
Morning after is contraceptive, not abortive, no?
Anyway, I don't believe so. Figures are about in line with what went before, if memory serves. Although, haven't seen illegal pill figures (which you'd assume are very low now).

Mitty - intersted to hear you know about Decawave, UWB and RF generally? It's not my background but know a bit about it through osmosis...
Yes - I think we'll all end up with wearable devices in lanyard format when we all get back to the offices ..... with alarms sounding if too many people are in a room, or if you're standing too close to someone for too long
Not a huge leap to see it in public locations also .... like pubs
I'm with mullet (and Holohan) re: the likelihood of us ending up back in a Leicester/Texas style lockdown soon enough .... the fact that one gobshite in Sligo can infect 14 family members is scary AF.
Cammy - the Devlin is pretty well placed to manage social distancing ... Birchalls has no chance
Rumour has it it was one of the Sligo based Iraqi’s that brought back the plague with him from his homeland. Probably infected other family and friends. Lots of Iraqi barbers.

EHCs prevent implantation. They don't terminate pregnancies.

Pretty obligatory fuck off we’re full !
Dingle Lahinch or kenmare for the missus. Rent a house. Plenty of decent eateries In striking distance. Beautiful scenery and if you get somewhere central there’s a nice area to ramble around have a pint and a bit to eat. Doubt if anywhere will have a rocking nightlife this summer

Scum they are indeed.
But I think there is a large element of political point scoring going on.
At the end of the day MoN is as thick as shit and has little to no power anyway given the army council’s firm grasp on proceedings. Her being forced to resign will achieve nothing, and the scumbags that support SF won’t blink an eyelid, and if anything garner more support to the party as they feel under siege again.

Did you see Mary Lou and MoN standing either side of Adams at the funeral?
That leaves me in little doubt who is pulling the strings and it ain't Mary Lou

Disagree. If it was only Unionist voices giving it large I would agree but the fact that it’s all the executive parties who are having a go you know it’s serious.
I also haven’t seen anyone use the “shoe on other foot” argument yet (that’s not to say it hasn’t been pedalled out) which is the popular point scoring argument.

She's been asked to step aside as opposed to resign, no? Just while the investigation is ongoing. Of course it's unlikely to go in her favour so resignation will be the next thing. Then we can go after Mary Lou!
In terms of political point scoring, sorry I'm not sure why they deserve to be immune to what's been going on around the world where people in the spotlight are held to a higher standard and have lost their positions as a result. And that's before getting to the whole thing being one big political point scoring exercise on their part.

I just think that SF are a disease and by taking a couple of pills (like calling them out for being cunts in public and getting MoN to step-aside or resign) doesn’t cure the underlying problem. Grand standing by all the executive parties ain’t going to matter one iota come the next election when SF have acted the dick since going into power sharing in 1998 and their support has done nothing but grow in then interim period.
MoN steps a side or resigns, so what? We are just going to be faced with another SF cunt and nothing will have changed (in the north anyway).
The other nationalist parties should forget grandstanding over this issue and figure out how to carry out major surgery to the patient that is the nationalist community in NI, to give them a viable alternative to the scummers.

All part time workers who earned less than €200 pw will be dropped to €200 from July 13th. Better late than never

The department has a very odd definition of 'small number'.
Over 200 million extra given out to part time workers over their pre covid pay before you get to anyone else by my count. Hopefully most of that is staying in Ireland at least.

We have guys like Ivan Yeats bemoaning this payment even thought he has been collecting 80K a year from the taxpayer since he was 42....We pay pensions to ex politicians like Biffo and Bertie in excess of that. We allow the clearing banks to steal tax payer money, in the billions, to enrich their pension pots . we have fat, tax dodging, alleged billionaires owning our media and mustached, tax evading, billionaires telling us where we can build apartment blocks and yet all you can worry about is some poor shop assistant getting an extra 100 quid a week for a short period........ get a grip man.

Why not ?...... I am all for making money and allowing enterprise to flourish but I find it hypocritical that gobshites like Yates etc. should have a pop at people who will spend every penny of that 'extra' payment in the local economy on goods, services and VAT.
Getting a 'free' pension is no different to claiming social welfare and in Yates case, he could be getting it for 40 years.

It's over 100,000 getting more than €150 more than their previous pay. We're not really talking about your regular shop assistants here but the people picking up a few hours here and there. No problem if you think the extra €200m was worth it but don't minimise the cost by talking about one person getting an extra €100. Everything has to be paid for in the end.

Indeed it does, in theory, and that includes the current 78K index linked, that the bold Ivan gets courtesy of spending a couple of years in Muck house and will continue to get in perpetuity.
200 million is fucking nothing in the scheme of things when nobody batted an eye-lash at a possible 1 billion euro spend on PPE. That aside wait until you see the HSE budget overspend this year and what they will demand for future years and that's before ' Phil Ní Handout' gets her snout in the trough.

The pension thing really should be addressed. Turkeys voting for Christmas to get it changed though. Is there a way around it? I've nothing much against top up payments and pensions for older ex politicians but as you say, what logic dictates Yates gets that on top of whatever else he can earn. Are they separate payments for tax purposes or do we at least get some of that back?

That's a real shame. Poor guy.
He did leave ER a parting gift:
Dr Holohan said from a public health point of view, there is no longer a reason for schools to stay closed and NPHET "will work in support of that sector".
"We've had good and extensive engagement with the Department (of Education) to implement it (the guidance). Every sector that will be important should take the advice and put in place plans."
He said "hopefully" the evidence will give further reassurance that "this disease affects children less severely and they play less of a role in transmission but it will be kept under review".
