How many penalties are England giving away, must be close to double figures. Ireland get their 4th try.

After the shock win against France, England very much returning to their true level.
Assuming Ireland go on to win, England, Ireland and France will all have one win from three, so the final standings will come down to bonus points and points difference.

England replacement 8 has had an absolute shocker since coming on, pretty much dropped every pass he has been given.

It is pretty damn depressing for NH rugby. SA sides in their 1st URC have an all SA final. Senior sides being smashed down under. SA u20 look so much better in fitness, skill and nous. SA are so dismissive of wales they make 14 changes for 2nd test (anyone put any money on a Wales win?). What is it now, 7 world cup wins to 1?
Governing bodies should hang their heads in shame but won’t as they don’t really give a flying fvck as long as 6 nations fills the coffers each year.

Yea this generation got really screwed over by covid. Many teams lack basic skills. Feels like the level of rugby I played in college(utterly dreadful). I hope everyone can rebound quickly.

Boet we are part of the NH & 6 Nations now. This will only improve the competitions and canceled out that WC wins.
Covid have struck our schoolboy rugby very hard. Saru however have a very good youth structure identifying youth players from u16 and bring them together in camps.
We only qualify for the final. Haven't won anything.

From what I can gather the schools system in South Africa is ridiculously strong, there are so many really good players coming out of that system, I guess it's one of the reasons you get players in Europe who didn't quite make it in the big franchises in SA but carve out a good career up here.

Haven't had a chance to watch SA-France, only saw the replay. Looks to me as if the French forwards were not a match for the Baby Boks, and many tries were scored by Boks forwards close to the line. Discipline appears to have been another issue.
It is a disappointing crop of U20 though there were couple talents who could go on to become internationals. Hopefully we have better in stock for future years.

Wonder if they'll ever implement the swiss format in Rugby. Looks pretty interesting and u20 seems like the best spot to test it. Definitely preferable to this type of group format IMO.

Georgian forwards are simply too much for the Scots. Complete demolition of a scrum on the Scottish line to win against the head and score a try.
Hardly surprising given that most of them look closer to 30 than 20.

Would probably work well for this type of competition where all the teams are in the same location. Wouldn’t work for the 6N because you need to know the schedule of matches well in advance so teams and fans can make travel arrangements etc.

It’s a way of running a tournament when it’s not possible for all teams to play each other (Round-Robin style), but you also don’t want to eliminate any teams. The aim is to provide a clear winner with a large number of competitors and a relatively small number of rounds of competition, without a single bad result terminating participation. The winner is the team with the highest aggregate points after all rounds have been completed.
One of the key aspects is that each round of matches is only scheduled after the previous round has been completed in order to take account of the latest set of results.

Not for 6N. I meant this format of 2 groups where 1st places go to final 2nds play for 3rd place etc. It's the most boring and unfair format I've come across in team sport. U20 World Cup is also similar just with more pools.
