So we're going to try and beat Italy up in the set piece, and act like everything is OK.
Pretty much this, and then Steady Eddie will come out and say "i told you so"
You’re all being silly. This weekend England’s kicking game is going to be perfect and they will win at a canter.
EJ knows what he’s doing.

And 13 teams next season so that Sarries don't have to sully themselves in the Championship for more than a handful of matches this season.

Season structure next year will be interesting with the extra weekends to find. Prem Cup either midweek or scrapped perhaps

That'll be handy for Glaws this season then!
It will also help avoid any legal challenges to the points awarded for Covid match cancellation

Unless I'm misreading it, couldn't that be Ealing as well if they beat Sarries to the promotion place

It could be Ealing but it won't be Ealing, none of the Championship teams will get within a country mile of Saracens with their international contingent back.

Although we have a couple of live Ealing fans on the Quins board getting
very upset if you dare mention the comparative quality of the Sarries team they've beaten a few times in those exhibition games, I harbour zero doubts that Saracens are professional enough to batter the living fuck out of Ealing's Championship-standard team when things restart for real.

We cantered back up with just one loss (Exeter away in what sounded like appalling conditions) and our squad was much worse than Sarries.
We did start to bring through some of the core of the Prem winning team, though.

No definitely not.
The RFU said promotion and relegation could be put on hold for "three or four seasons" as it reviews the calendar.
Ringfencing by the sounds of it!

Oof Gloucester...
Definitely should have managed that final opportunity better. Making progress, though. They're only just missing out on results.
For all that's been said about his talent, the walkover against Bath aside, Bristol look a lot less fluent with Lloyd at 10.

Robson was very pleasing today. Difference between his service and Youngs' was night and day.
Desperately sorry for Willis. It looked horrible and I really hope it's not the same knee as before.
7 points fewer scored and 8 more conceded than France seems a fair reflection of where we are.

He's not as actively harmful as the other 3 to our chances. I suspect he'd be much, much more effective alongside a Lawrence type rather than Farrell.

Obvious take away from today, England look so much better with Robson at 9 and Ford at 10. Youngs and Farrell against Wales it is then.

First thoughts have to be with Willis. I really hope I’m wrong but I suspect that’s his last game in an England shirt.
Agreed on Robson and surely he has to be given a start soon. We actually created a lot that Youngs butchered.

I started keeping a tally of how many times Youngs' pass caused someone to check, reach behind them, reach above them or actually have to jump to catch the ball and quickly got too depressed to carry on.

I am 100% sure that Ford's crap tackle for Italy's late try will be all that gets focused on rather than a decent game doing his main job.
Jones sounding stubborn as ever on the radio, accusing the press of calling him an idiot.

Yep it will the explanation for a 5/10 for him in most papers (Farrel at 7/10) and a narrative that hes being dropped for the next game 'as Jones looks to solidify the midfield' yadda yadda yadda
Anyway both sides playing this evening would have beaten England. Wales in particular look defensively sharp and will run the kicks back with interest.

There's both good and bad to Eddie not listening to the papers. Overall, it's a good thing.
