Very good win.
Those saying "could have had a slam" and what not could equally say "if Dulin kicked it out".
Harris was superb.
Glad Hoggs attacking captaincy paid off. Still my Lions captain.

OK, going to try and be sensible but might have to wait until Monday.
First, I am chuffed to bits with that, brilliant win, brilliant. Actually just damaged my wrist punching the sofa as IrnDu went over.
Only disappointment... thought the usually brilliant Barnes was rubbish and we could have won by the 7 or whatever. But, meh.
Harris was outstanding. Watson was outstanding. Haining and Ritchie, brilliant, Cherry...
Hogg will go down as a legendary player and one of our best captains.
Townsend.... excuse my language, but fuck off if you doubt him, our stats this year are outstanding.
What do we need to move to the next level? New half backs. Finn had been bang average at best and Price is our Youngs.
But anyway, loved that and so happy

Best game I've seen from Harris.
Delighted and, after being so downbeat from Wales and Ireland, we truly have turned a corner now.

What am I missing when Watson is not talked about as a nailed on Lions starter. No one offers the complete game he does.
Agree, he is an incredible player, amazing engine, never gets knocked back, always makes yards, swats off players twice his size, rarely knocks on.

Many great performances tonight but I thought Gilchrist was excellent especially as he’s not rated by many.

Watson got taken on a ride once by Chat and others and that is understandable as he got ball standing still. Apart from that, he makes ground, breaks tackles and has the engine of something not human. Outstanding performance again.

Easy lads, we are talking Lions here, not best players or best fits for a team to take on the world champs.

I'll regret it later/tomorrow. 12/1 seemed good value seeing as he can cover wing on tour too.
Trying to find odds for Hogg as captain too just to see value.

Few thoughts on the back of tonight, now I’ve had the chance to watch the whole game.
First up: I had to check this, but Scotland have now won our last four away games in the 6N. Italy and Wales from last season, England and France this.
What a game that was tonight. Just superb to see a Scotland team being the ones to take the victory in stoppage time. They were relentless in the final few minutes - they’d have had the try much earlier if it hadn’t been for some heroic French defence. It should have been the end when Dulin gave away a penalty rather than kick the ball out, but I guess our luck evened out.
Here’s what struck me, though. Against England, we had a night where everything went like clockwork and, aside from one or two moments, we had them on toast. That really didn’t happen tonight. We displayed all of our most frustrating habits - losing our lineout at crucial moments (x2), crap decision-making and failing to take points when they were on offer, crap restarts, poor discipline - and we still won, thanks to raw guts and hard work.
Nobody played badly, but a wee shout out to some of our less celebrated players: Gilchrist was immense tonight. I’ve said before I had never seen him have a convincing game for Scotland, but I have now. Won absolutely everything in the air. I was also really impressed with Haining, and by Cherry (again).
I think Russell should have had a yellow card rather than red, though it made no difference on the night. He had a relatively quiet game, but his kicking was good and he didn’t try anything stupid. Price... his pass is good, but he really is brainless at crucial moments and I think someone else should be starting.
Overall, it’s so frustrating that we won three games and lost the others by tiny margins, but then again, we’ve got through a whole 6N campaign without a godawful performance, and we were totally competitive in every game. Let’s hope we can kick on from here.

Lions contenders:
Certain: Hogg (probable test FB, possible captain)
Probable: Watson (seriously, what more can he do?)
Good chance: Ritchie, Van der Merwe, Zander Fagerson
Outside chance: Jonny Gray, Maitland, Harris
Probably blew it by getting injured: Sutherland (I reckon he bust his collarbone tonight)

Six weeks for a collar bone?
I did mine running into a shoulder charging fucker from Hawick in a South Schools trial.
Was off my face on Codeine at school for a while, had to write with my left hand.

Yeah, about that. From the way he was supporting the shoulder, it was clavicle or AC joint.
I forgot Russell in my list. TBH though, I think he is an outside chance at best. He has been a bit average this season.

I'd be very disappointed if Sutherland doesn't make the squad at the very least.
Hooker is a wide open position, and if Rambo and Brown can get themselves fit they must have a chance.
If Watson and Ritchie don't tour then I can't see me watching in anything other than from a neutral perspective.

I can’t quite get over the idea that if Liam Williams had been pinged for impeding Hogg in the final play of the Wales game, we could have been celebrating a maiden 6N title right now.
Yeah, I know, if my auntie had bawz. But it’s a cruel game sometimes.

Right but equally if Brice Dulin kicked the ball put we're fourth.
A great win! Still too undisciplined to compete with the very best. Most enjoyable though. Had far too many cans to celebrate. It's good being Scottish when they win!
Chris Harris eh. Good player.

Brilliant effort from the lads last night. The composure to protect the ball in the build up to the try at the end was outstanding. We seemed to have found a bit of savvy from somewhere. Still laughing about the French trying for one more play.
Reading Twitter/BBC etc this morning we seem to have a few of the armchair fans rattled when it comes to potential Lions. All I keep reading is about how Hamish is too lightweight because of the Chat incident, VDM missed tackle for their first try, Hogg and Russell’s “indiscipline” costing us cards. Does any other nations players get written off en masse because of selective incidents like these ?
We have now beaten 4 of the 5 teams away from home in the competition consecutively, Gatland will be needing a new excuse this time when it comes to leaving our lads behind.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game last night, it had everything. Watson and Harris were outstanding, other players worth a mention are Ritchie, Haining, Gilchrist and Cherry who should have started. Haven't got a clue what Brice Dulin was doing at the end but hey ho.
We gave a way far too many penalties, again. The defence has improved tremendously since Tandy came in. We will still have very few in the Lions squad, this time - by Gatlands logic - because we lost two games at home.
Overall a reasonable 6N full of "what ifs".

I would say this is maybe our best ever six nations. Beating England and France away in the same tournament is for anyone excellent for Scotland unheard-of.
The Ireland game we weren't very good especially the first 50. The Wales game was very frustrating then and even more so now. If Scotland can cut out the stupid penalties...
Woulda shoulda coulda

We did give away too many penalties, but then again, they mostly came in that 20 minute period where we held them out as they battered our line. That was a pretty heroic effort and probably broke them a bit mentally as the clock clicked down and they were not pulling away
