I cannot believe how we've failed to score with so much pressure on their line.

Finally get over the whitewash. Badly needed given our territorial dominance.
Need another one while we have the 2 man advantage. Not really made the most of it so far.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:16 pm Finally get over the whitewash. Badly needed given our territorial dominance.

Touch judge tells ref that a Falcons player deliberately throws the ball over the hoardings to stop Wasps taking a quick throw and ref ignores him...

Energy's still good from us, though I'm wary of spending the last minutes of a scrappy game that can be decided on a penalty with only 2 back rowers.

We close it out. Hopefully we can use this win a bit better than the Worcester one.

I think that's one of those things that's different when you're on a run rather than in a rut - passes stick, better choices are made, the 50/50s go your way.
True - felt we should have moved the ball a bit more when we had the 2 man advantage in their 22 - we took too long to get the try.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:43 pmI think that's one of those things that's different when you're on a run rather than in a rut - passes stick, better choices are made, the 50/50s go your way.
Lacked a little bit of spark - made some good yards with the heavy carriers but didn't capitalise with the backs. Nice to get the win though - just need to follow it up and get on a roll. Some better signs, for certain.
Thought the ref was quite poor. Hesitant in his decision making and communication and looked to be lacking in fitness as wellsockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 9:24 pm Touch judge tells ref that a Falcons player deliberately throws the ball over the hoardings to stop Wasps taking a quick throw and ref ignores him...
Not sure how the TMO didn't refer the "gouging/raking" incident on Bassett to the ref either
The Falcons winger is going to have quite a lay-off for this

That’s filthy and clearly very deliberate. He’ll not be playing for a long time after that.SaintK wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:01 amThought the ref was quite poor. Staggered the TMO didn’t stop play, given the commentators knew about it before play had restarted. Gougers can get fucked, have a season off IMHO

Found the gouge non-investigation absolutely staggering. They had the second clip in the footage you've linked before Gopperth had even taken a penalty we'd been playing advantage for. That clip alone warrants investigating.SaintK wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:01 amThought the ref was quite poor. As I said on the other page, if they've totally missed it, you can kind of understand, albeit be really frustrated, but the comms team were informed not long after the footage surfaced that it was being marked for citing which is completely new to me. If you see an incident of severe foul play during the game, bloody well check it out!

Leicester Tigers get one hell of a Saffer in Marko van Staden. He has been massive all season for the Bulls.
I get the feeling some new refs see the more experienced ones get praised for making a decision and not using the TMO, and assume that means they should try to not use him. The difference is, the experienced ones also know when to use him...

Jesus just looked at the angle from reddit, hadn't realised it was that blatant. Done in cold blood as well, won't be playing for a while

Would you be able to fire him over this? If I were his head coach/DoR I'd be seriously unimpressed with this for a host of reasons and I'd actually be disappointed in my squad if they didn't ostracise the filthy bastard. We've seen a couple of fairly soft bans in the past for "contact with the eye area" that were nowhere near gouging and I can see players not being fussed about that, but something as blatant as this is indefensible and gouging is talked about as pretty much the cardinal sin of rugby.

I can't respect gougers. I felt the same with this when Burger moved to Sarries and actually handled himself very well, still couldn't stand him.
I don't mind thuggish players that much, but the thought that someone will go out to play a sport and decide to blind someone else - absolutely disgusting. I assume a lot of the guys at Newcastle will feel the same way, there's a there but for the grace of god element to seeing what happened to Bassett.

Gross misconduct and terminated contraact. There must be a clause in the contract that covers not being available to play other than for injury?sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:52 am Would you be able to fire him over this? He'd only recently signed for Falcons. That's got to be a minimum 24 weeks

Quins giving Glaws an absolute shoeing at the moment, so much for skipping Scotland - Italy to watch a competitive game.

In a very Quinsy fashion the London lot have managed to turn a commanding lead into a draw with 25 minutes off still to play.

At time of typing, it was 24 - 0 and Quins looked in complete control.Kawazaki wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 3:23 pmsockwithaticket wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 2:39 pm Quins giving Glaws an absolute shoeing at the moment, so much for skipping Scotland - Italy to watch a competitive game.

Mad game. Certainly you'd have expected Quins to bury Glaws' academy.
Not seen it, but first thought would be Quins were cantering, took their foot off the pedal, and then got a shock, and didn't let up after.

Pretty much, Banahan got himself red carded with 10 to play which helped Quins add a couple more late on.

Say what you want about us not winning anything under Lancaster, but he never steered us to 5th in the 6 Nations (twice it looks to be!) either.
We cut them open at will but it was one of those matches where it's almost too easy and players got lazy / sloppy, we bombed at least four tries and gifted them a couple.
Northmore made almost 200m, beat 9 defenders. Two tries and a shitload of creativity from Dombrandt, who ran over 100m and at times made it look like he was playing against schoolkids.
I see Sam Simmonds did well again today too.
At half time in the England game, Billy had 2 carries for 2m and 3/1 tackles, the useless fat sack of shit.
