Players are injured all the time. We generally have a better injury record than most nations. It's frustrating when we've done all the hard work to get a nearly full squad fit and then have players injured but we're still in good shape.

It is odd to lose JGP and Healy in the captains run, Kelleher, Sheehan and Baloucoune in training all with the same injury

You'd hope they're examining possible reasons but it could just be one of those things.

Not necassarily. A former colleague of my dad was seriously injured in a similar way. Road collision while cycling to/from work. Induced coma, touch and go whether he'd get through the first few days, and then a lot of neurological rehabilitation. He recovered and returned to work, but immediately after the accident it can be hard to know what way things are going to develop. Whether they'll survive, or whether they'll have long term consequences.
Hopefully Murray Snr is through the most immediate part and on to the medium term recovery.

I'd take it more as a sign that Murray is committed to the team. He's a senior player, which probably affords him some personal decision making leeway that maybe wouldn't be granted to a rookie.

Obviously hoping that his dad pulls through as well as can be. Shit situation.

We're over half way through the season and Sheahan has played about 1000 mins. It's not a ridiculous amount at all.

Going from foggy memory here, but wasn't there a issue in the past with a bunch of Leinster players out with hamstring injuries - got be be 5+ yrs ago. Was talk about what they were doing in the gym being a factor. Can't remember any specifics, sprinter type injuries.

Somebody on one of the podcasts said JGP had been rushed back. Matter of debate, but there you go.

In terms of Sheehan, big explosive players need to be stewarded. Ferris, O'Brien, etc, are the evidence for that.

If the Leinster lads had used the stairs in BT instead of the fancy pants elevators they'd have stronger hamstrings, absolute science fact.

Yep. There was a bunch of hip flexor injuries. I think the S&C coach was shown the door/changed soon afterwards
