Like an idiot I didn't run a website I've never bought from through Trustpilot before purchasing and now I've been scammed. I'm only out £70 and paid through Paypal, so have raised a dispute, but it's really annoying.
Allicoco, in case anyone was wondering, avoid these fucks.
Ordered a nice looking plaid shirt and light hoodie back in December. Took over a month to arrive, neither item was what I ordered and the quality was a far cry from what was on the site. Customer service suggested I donate it to a charity shop or gift to a friend and accept a 30% discount on the next order! Alarm bells.
A couple of emails later and they've upped their offer to a 20% refund while insisting that returning the incorrect items isn't advisable because it takes too long and I would have to pay the costs.
Had a quick google and they have a nascent Trust Pilot page that only started picking up reviews in mid January with stories like mine.

If you paid by paypal or credit card, dispute it. Tell customer service you're about to dispute it too.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:27 am Like an idiot I didn't run a website I've never bought from through Trustpilot before purchasing and now I've been scammed. I had a particularly unpleasant experience with PayPal dispute resolution last year after being sent some substandard garden kit that arrived damaged - they sided with a retailer who wanted me to send the kit back to Malaysia at my own expense for a full refund.Raggs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:39 amIf you paid by paypal or credit card, dispute it. I had to square up to a young'un on Monday and tell him to back off. First time in over 30 years. He proceeded to toss insults and threats at me from a safe distance for a while before he buggered off. I felt really tough just then, but in all honesty he could've kicked the shit out of me he wanted to.mat the expat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 1:34 am I was fairly restrained until he accused my GF and friend of mouthing off.
He took a large step behind someone else when I asked him if he was actually calling my GF Mouthy!
So lots of interesting stuff in this image and text if you're into it:

Yeah I left them with an ultimatum of deliver my items or refund them else I start a Paypal dispute. Hopefully you have some luck. Paypal won't always side with the buyer (and rightly so), but you seem to have a fairly good case by what you're saying.sockwithaticket wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:24 amYeah I left them with an ultimatum of deliver my items or refund them else I start a Paypal dispute. Yeah if it was just a case of me not liking the stuff after it showed up, then I wouldn't expect any success and would just have to wear the cost, but they've made an error and seem incredibly reluctant to do anything about it.Raggs wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:33 amHopefully you have some luck. I read that headline as 'bimbogenesis' at first glanceUS East Coast hunkers down as 'bombogenesis' snowstorm hits
The US East Coast is hunkering down as a major blizzard hits the region for the first time in four years. The storm is forecast to stretch from the Carolinas to Maine, packing hurricane-force winds in coastal parts. Five states have declared emergencies.
Mayor Michelle Wu of Boston, a city that is no stranger to snowfall, said the storm could be "historic". More than two feet of snow could fall in New England. Weather officials also warn of flooding near the coast.
Over 5,000 US flights were cancelled between Friday and Sunday, according to FlightAware.
Forecasters say there is a chance the storm, known as a Nor'easter, will blanket the Boston area with up to 2ft (61cm) of snow. The current record of 27.6in (70cm) within 24 hours was set in 2003.
Experts say the storm will undergo bombogenesis, meaning that colder air is expected to mix with warmer sea air, leading to a swift drop in atmospheric pressure. The process leads to a so-called bomb cyclone.
A decent while back, i.e. I was in my 50s rather than 60s, I did something similar.Gumboot wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:47 amI had to square up to a young'un on Monday and tell him to back off. Neighbours had gone out and left their house to their son for his 18th party. After numerous issues, police were called (not by me) and the party broken up.
I was at the back of our house when our sons came through to say their scooters had been knicked out of the porch. I got in the car and went after and removed the scooters from the two teenage girls riding them. I was then confronted by a couple of mouthy teenage boys. They did not bother me so much as the half dozen who clustered behind them.
There must have been about 20 of both sexes in the group. My father was useless in many ways, but he was polis and taught me how to handle myself, so a stale mate ensued until a couple of the girls did the 'he's not worth it' routine and ushered the others away.
I had to go for a wee sit down after.
PayPal are useless cunts, I ordered a retractable dog gate and paid on Pay pal - when I got the package it was just a piece of netting!! PayPal agreed I should get a full refund if I sent it back to them at my expense!! Yesterday the Bavarian State Opera attempted to advertise their new production of Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen on Facebook
Unfortunately, once Facebook’s translation algorithms got involved the post from the Bavarian State Opera appeared as: ‘The cast of THE BLUE FUCK together with our director Serge Dorny, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and Barrie Kosky’.
How did that happen?
Janacek’s animal opera Příhody lišky Bystroušky is known in English as The Cunning Little Vixen and in German as Das schlaue Füchslein.
Enter Facebook’s translator. Schlaue is instantly mistaken for ‘blaue’, or blue, and any word with ‘fuchs’ in it converts to ‘fuck’

Be interested to see the first person who thought “I wonder what’s down this tiny hole in the rock”. And at what point their mate wondered if it was time to send Lassie to fetch help.
Nope, nope, no, no thank you, no and fuck off again.
Heights don't bother me at all but THAT scares the shit out of me. It's made me quite anxious just watching.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aillwee_CaveThe cave was discovered in 1944, when a farmer named Jack McGann followed his dog, who was chasing a rabbit. The farmer did not explore very far into the caves, and did not tell anyone of the find for nearly 30 years.
He told cavers of the cave in 1973 and that summer the cave was explored as far as a boulder choke. Show cave development began quite soon after.

Ms GL told me yesterday that one of her Bridge chums has a new Audi. I asked if it's an A3. I don't know she said, it's a red one with a black roof. Couldn't make it up.

Anyone else keeping an eye on the Vardy/Rooney fandango currently going through courts?
I'm not interested in the WAG angle, just in the concept of whether sharing/exploiting something itself shared through a social media platform, even if to a relatively constrained group, can be considered invasion of privacy.
For those unaware, the wives of a shrek-like former footballer/current manager and a Jimmy Hill chinned current footballer have had a falling out as the former shared stories on a private Instagram group that the latter allegedly sold to the tabloid press. The former slowly reduced the number of people in the group and fabricated a few stories that subsequently appeared in tabloids, until she was convinced she'd found the only person who could be responsible who she then 'outed'. No-one else really gives a shit, but in the world of idle tittle-tattle it's apparently quite a big deal. Although the court case is actually the latter suing the former for libel after she was identified as responsible for selling the stories, it does raise a number of interesting questions around expectations of privacy.

I thought the Whatsapp message they retrieved that said "haha, she'll never know it was us that leaked it" was a bit incriminating.
Also tend to agree with the prosecution barrister that it was unfortunate that Vardy lost her phone in the North Sea after a freak wave hit her boat a couple of days after she was ordered to hand it over.

Surprised that Vardy sued for libel, she looks pretty much bang to rights and she's only drawn more attention to the whole affair.
I'm still not sure what Rooney thought would happen - they're clearly not close friends so no idea what she's doing sharing things she doesn't want to go further. To my mind that's the interesting angle.
