Margin__Walker wrote: Fri Jun 25, 2021 3:00 pm Ironically, other than the red, I don't think the discipline was that shocking, despite the huge pen count.

Half of them were for holding on when we were attacking, where we were unable to cope with their 7 and 2 getting over the ball. Most of the rest were goal line offsides when we were under huge pressure. There were very few dumb ones. Lifting the leg at the maul is the only one that springs to mind.

Definitely work to do either way though
I thought the sheer number of offsides was pretty troubling. You were right to point out the second Scottish try probably prevented another yellows. The ref mentioned he was playing two advantages at that point, so the pen count only speaks to the number of offences blown up, there were certainly more that got covered up by being conceded while already under advantage.

For all that, we never looked uncomfortable and it never felt like the Scots were going to take the game.

Looking the look of the scrum half, refreshing to see an England 9 who gets to the ruck and gets the ball away without a massive delay or 7 sideways steps...

He's stuck behind Ben Youngs at Tigers.

He's getting a decent amount of gametime to be fair for someone still playing U20s. 17 prem appearances (5 starts) this season.

On another note, it's the second time I've seen that Georgian ref. He's been very good on both occasions.

Hopefully he isn't also mentored by him.

Perfect start by Quins, penalty try and a YC for Exeter

Quins' pens giving Exeter exactly what they want at the moment.

Ominous from Exeter.

Quins almost have to treat their own 22m line as their surrogate tryline. Once Exeter get within 10m they'll score.

Lynagh's face, he know that's a proper fuck up against Chiefs. Gifts them a brilliant position.

Quins lost Smith to the bin and another try, ominous for Quins. Exeter utterly ruthless

Almost worth just shepherding Exeter to the touchlines and letting them score as far out as possible rather than risk a yellow and/or penalty try.

Great fight from Quins tbf. Forcing Exeter into conceding pens of their own.

Yep, there's a point where fighting tooth and nail to stop the score becomes counter-productive.

Nice work from Quins. Almost run down the card and nabbed a try.

You have to applaud the decision to take the scrum and then engineer that try via the 8 - 9 - 10 axis. That trio really is the heartbeat of this team.

Not sure how Exeter have avoided a card when Smith got binned despite the try being scored? Both teams were on a warning, yet different outcomes.

"Totally different" according to Carley.

Hell of a fight bring put up by Quins. Hope Marler has another half hour+ in him.

Exeter a bit lucky with that huge offside Austin pointed out.

Exeter lost the plot there, their kicking was terrible. Simmonds made a howler, and TOF should've found touch
