The more rugby I see this season, the more I think my idea that jacklers must step over the prone player before they can place their hands on the ball/tackled player is a great idea. The body angles of the jacklers make it impossible for them to be supporting their own weight, they just anchor themselves on the tackled player with arms around their body which prevents them from being able to place the ball back after they have been tackled. That contravenes a Law that already exists but it's just ignored.
Anyway, at least Quims lost. So not all bad.

Yeah, very good. Strong argument for him retaining the starting jersey even when Faf's available again.

Yep, terrific work rate and pretty accurate pass. Box kicking a bit mixed though

Very good win for Sale under the circumstances. Curry was the difference from the past few weeks, but raffi looks the real deal. Going to be interesting watching him and van portfliet develop, with the likes of Mitchell in the wings.

Pffft, Ben Youngs has only just turned 32.

Quirke did look good. Needs a bit of polish for sure, but very encouraging.
Thought Manu looked quite handy too.

Manu looked like he was dying to cop a red card.
Good win for Sale, not too unhappy with how we competed physically. Curry was magnificent. Quirke is a real talent.

Teams for today's televised game.
Good guys:
Evil empire:
I worry that we won't be able to achieve parity up front while still missing the likes of Launchbury, Barbeary and Willis sr. and having just added Oghre, Cruse and Gaskell to our forward absentees. Most of the backline is still pretty dangerous, though Gopperth and Le Bourgeois is by no means a preferred centre combo. Having one of Feikitoa or Odogwu available to slot in there would be great. They're the last men standing though after Spink picked up an injury last week. Poor kid, he's had to wait for opportunities and given the number of them in the centres this ought to be his moment to get some appearances in.
The club statement about Exeter's cultural appropriation is sure to have riled them up, I hope we're ready for that.

Never heard of Harvey Skinner. Has he got any track record?

I know I've seen him play in a few games, but I can't say he's been particularly memorable.

Just out of the academy, made his debut last season.

How come Skinner is currently starting, with Simmonds on the bench? Is this the second or third game now?

Quins just gave away so many dumb penalties, schoolboy stuff some of it.

Wow, Newcastle are big odds-on to beat Bristol. That's fairly damning of Pat Lam, he likely spends right up to the cap limit. I doubt Newcastle spend more than 80% of it.

Lol praising Fifita there, but that pass selection from Umaga was spot on.

Yeah, put him through the gap really nicely. Fifita probably should've just kept running straight. Might not have made it all the way, but he'd not have been much shy of the line when brought down. Great position to set up a ruck.

We've suffered many times at the hands of Exeter's maul, so to be out-mauling them is a good feeling.

Frost looks like another great pickup by Wasps. Hislop (the loosehead) isn't doing poorly either!

Both from the Championship. Another reason why the RFU should fund it properly so that we see more home grown players develop

I just noticed Nowell has a Redbull scrumcap. Would that be individual branding? Can’t say I’ve seen that sort of thing before.

Why do BT sport let Dayglo commentate on Wssps games? He’s clueless when commentating as a neutral but overlay his wasps bias he’s just pish

Same reason they let Healy do Leciester, they must think the clear bias adds something?
Goodness knows what.

Wasps water carrier stupid to get involved.
It's pretty big to come through that period without having conceded points, albeit it has cost us a man.
Can't complain about the yellow, but also can't help but feel that Exeter should've been warned over their pens in the first half.
