Without Saracens the quality of the Premiership is very low. They raise the standards for everyone. They also have an academy that puts other clubs to shame.

And Saracens fans who pre-date the Wray years just have to laugh at Harlequins when they complain about any other club breaking rules. They were the most bent club in England in the amateur era. Bar none.

The quality of the rugby is actually irrelevant, it will find its level - the league lives or dies by how competitive it is and one team winning because they've cheated a mechanism specifically created to ensure that competitiveness makes a mockery of the competition, even if (and I suspect it's arse gravy anyway) they do improve everyone's standards. And yes, I accept Sarries have some great structures in place, which makes it all the grubbier that they still felt they had to game the system.

I get that you will defend and excuse the conduct of the team you support with the same vigour with which you pursue punishment for Rassie Erasmus' disgraceful behaviour during the Lions tour, but I'm afraid you'll just have to live with premiership fans dislike of Sarries for the foreseeable. There was nothing between the two sides really. Quins better on turnover ball and broken field play, Saracens better at the set-piece and territorial game. Saracens shaded it just at the breakdown as well. Leicester are a worthy side to join them as the best trio in the league. The Quins Saffas are superb players, no idea how they're not getting capped.

I saw the Koch incident but not sure how it caused a head injury. Did his head hit the ground when he fell?

No. He got concussed making a tackle.

Allen was blinking and shaking his head a long time before then, and was clearly pretty badly hurt by the cheap shot given how long he stayed down and how groggy he looked. But hey, you do you.

edit: Actually, having just gone and found the match replay, it's nothing to do with a tackle on Koch. There's a long passage of play where Saracens have the ball and he's out on the wing, then he comes off looking a little wobbly having not been touched. Given he made one tackle in his time on the pitch it's not a surprise. Not sure why I bothered taking what you say as having any bearing on reality.

Here's the incident. Main things to note are that it is only marginally late and not especially egregious either. A penalty but nothing more.

More noteworthy is the commentary that accompanied this where they pointed out that Allen had a concussion problem against Bristol two weeks earlier. Questions to answer for the Harlequins medical team selecting a player who was still suffering headaches perhaps? Their medical employees have got previous as we all know.

My apologies, I did misread that. However, he still didn't go off after making a tackle. He went off several minutes after any physical contact whatsoever. You just threw the "after making a tackle" thing out there because you don't really give a shit about whether it's true or not, you just want to do your usual misinformation and misdirection schtick.

I suspect Koch shouldn't have barged him in the back with his shoulder and elbow, clearly injuring him.

It wasn't a huge impact. The more you watch it, the less bad it looks. It's definitely a penalty but it's really nothing dangerous. Given Allen's failed HIA previously, I suspect he wasn't right before kickoff.

p.s Allen did make another tackle. It was on Alex Goode.
