Apparently Boland’s 6 - 7 is the best 6 for in Test history.
England equal their record number of ducks; 54 in one year. Abject.
Says it all. An overweight stand in breaks the record books against sh*thouse Eng.
I hope the Eng players have the good grace not to collect their own pay.

Fattie Ngidi channeling Big Vern. I still think he needs a month on the Paleo diet. But he's bowled really nicely. Seems Jansen is in because of Oliver's Covid hangover and a hamstring niggle. It's a good intro for young Jansen though. He's only 21 so he'll really benefit from this. He's taller than RG Snyman and probably weighs 90 kg. He'd benefit from a clinic with Curtley Ambrose to help him with his wrist position on release.
Anrich Nortje is a huge loss for this test. He'd create some havoc here.
Yass King!! Marco bags one. The Bavuma/Jansen height difference is probably the biggest in international cricket history.

Did a bit of Google on Jansen. He is one of a twin both cricketers via their dad.
He look like a future star. Tall left hander.

Just put a bottle of prosecco on ice for the afternoon cricket. I have a dozen crayfish tails for an early dinner with cocktails. I'm still meant to be isolating but my neighbours are in the same boat so will join me for a dinner party.

In many jobs, their efforts would be considered negligence. In terms of serving one's country, they'd probably be facing a court-martial for dereliction of duty!

Ashes Breaking News: Joe Root scored 28 to end 2021 with 1,708 runs for third-most test runs scored in a calendar year.
What puts that into context is
Next highest English player - Burns 530
Third highest - Extras 412
No other English batsman scored over 400 runs, Bairstow 391 is the next on the list.

Cheers, it's from this
Yeah, it appears that Root, Stokes and Anderson are carrying the side atm. Robinson looks very promising, but these repeated failures can't be giving the other less experienced players much confidence.
The logical step after this tour would be an almost complete rebuild, but does England have the depth for that?
No.... they don't. Talking on the radio here about it.. and these guys are as good as it gets... County cricket has changed and not much red ball cricket on bowler friendly wickets is played here any more. White ball cricket is where the money is... And sadly it's not good preparation for test cricket. So England have long term problems ..
What Sandstorm said .
Love the full picture. He looks a happy chappy!
Spot on.
There was no four day cricket played in England between early July and late August. The height of the English summer and they don’t play the fucking game.
There is a way to recover this, but I doubt the ECB will do it. Play the County Championship alongside the white ball game. Put the four day games on outgrounds - that’ll get some kind of a crowd. It lets the players who are more like test batsmen and bowlers play in the right conditions - many of these aren’t that involved in white ball cricket anyway. Do away with the second XI championship, play younger guys to make up the numbers in the long form game. Means that when you send people like Burns, Crawley etc back to county cricket from the test side, they actually play worthwhile Fùcking cricket! Means that players can put pressure on the test side during the summer! Trains young players in hot conditions on dry wickets, so proper fast bowling and spin bowling conditions, with time to build an innings over a day!
And doesn’t interfere with T20, the Hundred or any of the other rara fireworks and music sports entertainment pish.

Jeez. Remember when we had Smith, Amla, Kallis, ABDV and Faf in 2012 against Aus. Only Markram and de Kock from this bunch have the talent to match those guys. We're in the same boat as England right now.
