McConnochie has been quietly racking up the treis for Bath since the resumption. Will he still be in Eddie's plans?

You'd think so - previously he was a decent all rounder with a terrible try scoring record, and now he can't stop scoring. Looks like he's beefed up over the break, too.

Back 3 players for the 6 Nations were Daly, Furbank, May, Thorley and Watson.

Think it's safe to say Furbank won't be retaining a spot.

If Nowell can come through the season run in without getting injured (fairly big if these days tbf), he'll get a spot. Do you reckon McConnochie's done enough to displace Thorley?

Dunno, it's a tossup. Thorley would be my preference but McConnochie has a bit more class to his game I think. Would just be a preference call by Eddie and I don't think it's an easy one to call.

Absolute howler from Yarde to gift Spencer his 2nd and Bath's 3rd. If Sale could get their shit together and deny Bath a 4th over the remaining 10 minutes, that's be great.

Exeter will never win a European Cup. This one-out pick and go style when they get within 10m is criminally dull.

Earle has had two MoM games. Malins so much better than every other Bristol player today.

Sinckler has been shite for Bristol.

Weirdly when Radradra gets MOTM you ignore it and claim he's crap.

Malins was better than the rest of Bristol's 2nd XV, but has barely shown up for the firsts and needs to put a run together.

And no, Sinckler hasn't been shite.

Apologies, you did of course claim he did nothing in matches where he had huge impact.

But hey, you feel free to continue your desperate attempts to make Saracens relevant - bigging up players for standing out in a reserve side, bragging about how good the players you've been forced to send out from the massively illegal squad are, talking up genuinely meaningless matches...

They're academy players. Like all the top Saracens players are. The ones who don't quite make the Saracens grade end up in the Quins first XV.

All the top Saracens players

You just can't help yourself, can you? Mako (literally played for Bristol before joining Sarries 'academy'), Billy, Brad Barritt, Daly, Maitland, Koch, Wigglesworth... there's a decent crop of academy players, but it's disingenuous to claim it's "all the top Saracens players".

Not sure which Sarries are supposed to be in the Quins first XV. Presumably not Aaron "backup for Mike Brown" Morris.

edit: Oh, Nathan Earle - that's fair. 14 tries 37 appearances for Sarries as a kid, mind.

The Vunipolas, Daly, Barritt, Koch? Notable contributions until recently from Skelton, Lozowski and Williams.

I'm sure there's more if I could be bothered.

Exeter had a few players making their Premiership debuts today - and others getting some Premiership experience to go with their handful of other appearances. Certainly won't hurt them.

The most meaningless of meaningless matches: a 2nd XV of a relegated team vs a dregs XV of the league leaders who won't be caught, playing in a pandemic in front of even fewer fans than normal on a plastic pitch. Modern rugby, eh?

Yep, that's why I corrected his post from just plain old Exeter.

To play around at the top and across two fronts it's necessary to manage resources from time to time. Since this game is being replayed next week between what will presumably as close to 1st choice selections as both sides can manage, today was a bit nothing burger.

Which of ‘the best’ Bath players are ex-Sarries academy, then?

From who I can think of:

Watson - LI
Roko - British Army
Joseph - LI
Matevesi - Cornwall somewhere / Redpath - Sale
McConnochie - England 7s / Cockanasiga - LI
Priestland - Wales
Spencer - Cambridge

Obano - Bath
Dunn - Bath
Stuart - Wasps
Ewels - Bath
Stooke - Glaws
Mercer/Ellis/Bayliss - Bath
Underhill - Glaws/Wales
Faletau - Wales

Don’t spoil the narrative Joost, Spencer is the sole reason Bath are top 4 at the moment, conveniently ignoring that the forwards are putting in the hard yards.

He’s an excellent scrum half but I think Neil Hatley deserves at least as much credit in transforming the forwards.
