Er, regardless of whether you think it was foul play or not, there was most definitely head contact in that challenge.

If we can go five seconds without being penalised and actually give the backs a semblance of a platform our bacs definitely look like they can do damage.

p.s this ref is very dodgy.
When Leatherbarrow went over and it was referred to the TMO, there was a clear deliberate knock on from the England 7 to dislodge the ball rom his hands
In that position it's a penalty try and yellow card

You mean when he was being tackled?!

I mean the England flanker's hand deliberately slapped the ball forward, clear as day

Repeat: Is this when the Scottish player was in the act of falling on the England tryline? Tell me you don't seriously mean that tackle?!

It was a knock on, but it wasn't deliberate. Looked to me like he was going in to try and get a hand under to hold up and ended up hitting the ball.

You really need to watch it with both eyes open to see what happened right enough.
Scotland got away with one for the first try, it was a double movement.
Clear Scottish knock on before the second as well.Tichtheid wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:03 pmKawazaki wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:01 pmTichtheid wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 8:58 pm

Why was this brake foot thing introduced just before the NH showpiece tournament?
Have you heard the boy Robbie Nock who does top 14 on premier? Consistently hilariously, endearingly bad.

That was electric. Arundell's a serious talent.
There are few answers to red hot pace like that in a broken field, he looks terrific

Indeed, he also has some feet on him and doesn't seem to slow down when shifting direction. Made good decisions hen running out of real estate too.Tichtheid wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:24 pm

Tom Parton at Irish must be looking nervously over his shoulder.

Adam Radwan is like that. Only quicker. Eddie Jones doesn't rate him.

He's not a small fella, but Townsend seems to be carrying it quite a lot for a 10.

BP secured. Subs do seem to have benefitted the English forwards.

Blimey, that lanky streak of ginger piss has got some gas.
Well deserved try for Grayson, he's been really good.

He's not being helped by th replacement scrum half, but he's definitely prominent and not afraid to take on much bigger players when the pass isn't there.

Some of these guys actually look pretty young which makes a change. Usually half the U20s look about a decade older than they supposedly are.
The defender would have used the same technique even if he was categorically trying not to make a knock on. It was the only way he could make the tackle in the hope of preventing the try.
Chris Jack, 67 test All Black - "I was voted most useless and laziest cunt in the English Premiership two years on the trot"
Good game to watch, the U20s is often good entertainment, played at pace and with lots of ambition - Scots have already done better than last term, when they didn't get a single point from their games. England looked very good with ball in hand and when attacking from deep - but won't be happy with conceding 4 tries - so a bit of work to be done there.
The TMO and then the ref called it a knock on, hence the scrum for Scotland. If you go into that tackle with your hand forward like that you are trying to dislodge the ball.notfatcat wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 10:01 pmThe defender would have used the same technique even if he was categorically trying not to make a knock on. For me that is a deliberate knock on.

If and when the clip is available on the iplayer I’m quite happy to talk it through frame by frame
For me that is a deliberate knock on.
Yes, but you're a hopelessly parochial observer.

England’s forwards were dreadful for the first 50 minutes, and the backs looked pretty disorganized too on the few occasions when they did get the ball. It was largely the full back’s brilliance that kept them in the match. As Toga said, the change of fly half made a big difference to England’s play and organization in the second half.Ovals wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 10:02 pm Good game to watch, the U20s is often good entertainment, played at pace and with lots of ambition - Scots have already done better than last term, when they didn't get a single point from their games. Scotland’s forwards did very well, but ran out of steam in the second half. Townsend apart, their backs didn’t look very threatening.
I don't think I am, but this particular poster seems to go personal very quickly very often, and I was just wondering if it was due to youth and being exposed to online norms.
It was just a question.

Are you struggling with what parochial means?
