This is from Jake

https://forum.planetrugby.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=99639

So, I'm pretty sure you'll have a reworking version of this in 2 weeks and then a second wave to follow.

We've mended the football forum- massive job- and it's starting to regenerate. it'll take time. We may move it to XenForo but not sure yet.

So, you can guarantee this will be fit for purpose and there'll be two stages.

If you go, fine. If you stay, great.

Or in other words, after a lot of attention seeking, many of you actually left. Oh shit. Please come back.

This saga is getting very hard to follow.

PR is going. It's gone! It's back! It's going! It's not going...

Welp, pretty much all of the Scottish contingent on the old bored seem to have turned up here as The Bite, so this seems the natural spot to hang out now.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

To be fair. PR has torn itself apart, and pretty much all posters just want it to end.

This is a fresh start opportunity . Perhaps the Irish and kiwis can reflect and instead now get on.

I don’t always agree with you but I do on this. Doesn’t mean I wouldn’t pop into PR though. As I do on The Rugby Network.

What ever happens i will keep this running, the pull of the old may be stronger than the attraction of the new, thats fine, this will be here as a haven if people choose to migrate back to PR. However i think there is still a LOT of work needs doing to get the old fixed the way it was, not just the software, but also the whole vibe.

The vibe on PR has been awful particularly with no rugby on.

Just been full of dickheads posting on black lives matter stuff. Im not in a hurry back. I'll go back for match threads and pre match trolling threads.

As HKL noted on that site allowing this be set up and all this effort and then saying 'Well actually I totes wanted a Xeno drain but that went the window when the the Glik became unstable so we just went back to Mish. Thought that was clear'. Well it's a bit shit

I agree. I’ve posted on it, not proud to get involved in hindsight. But it has been horrid, and a massive downfall of the rugby site.

Thanks ASMO for putting this together.

Its a pretty straightforward equation in my opinion - if the overwhelming majority of Irish posters stay here this place will take off.

Not happy about it but yes.

This place seems to have a better vibe so far but the layout (contrast wise between posts, thread title, quotes etc.) is still difficult to get used to. Think ASMO said he was working on it.

We don't need to vote. We can just feel what the other is thinking. It's quite sensual

I'll stick around here whilst it's still got the traffic.

Nicer vibe, PR had got pretty depressing with no rugby on and endless arguments about BLM, statues etc.

Can also embed videos which really should be basic functionality in a forum these days. Also easier to browse on mobile.

Jake explicitly told me on messenger that the bored was being shutdown and that he would do everything he could to help a transition to a new bored not tied to Planet Rugby and was discussing with Houts.

High King Jake is now busy moving the goalposts faster than a drunken Tartan Army.

You folks have a choice to make (because realistically, no-one is going to ride 2 forums except the CP losers)
- back the efforts here
- or live under Jake and PR's ongoing yoke (or is that joke?) of "look at me" followed by "I...... errrrr, I mean PR... is pulling the rug"

Your call

This forum provides a more secure, long term future for the PR membership than any of the alternatives, in my opinion.

Its quite easy to envisage the threat of the closure of PR resurfacing in just a few years time with all the attendant "will it, won't it" melodrama. It is Jake's modus operandi. This eleventh hour intervention to "save" the bored was so utterly predictable.
