Ja, pretty confident we will win this one as well. Hopefully no red cards and the refs handle the match as well as on Saturday

My gut says no more than 5 changes for the Lions. Midfield of Farrell and Henshaw. Williams for Hogg. Some back row changes (Faletau will probably come in). Wyn Jones to start.
Harris -> Farrell
Hogg -> Williams
VDM -> Adams
Conan -> Faletau
Mako -> Wyn Jones
I can see more changes in the back row though.

Koos's son was super in all the warm up matches.JM2K6 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 9:36 am My gut says no more than 5 changes for the Lions. Midfield of Farrell and Henshaw. Williams for Hogg. Some back row changes (Faletau will probably come in). Wyn Jones to start.

He honestly has been given any ball in the tests, so why replace him? Rather pass the ball to him.
I'm very happy that this series went ahead and that it's going to a decider. Boks have more miles under the belt, so I'm hoping for a repeat performance of the second half in the second test. We need to avoid cards.

I try.
Can see arguments for most of those but Farrell...?JM2K6 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 9:36 am My gut says no more than 5 changes for the Lions. Midfield of Farrell and Henshaw. Williams for Hogg. Some back row changes (Faletau will probably come in). Wyn Jones to start.

These changes would all be fine if Gatland wants to try the same game plan again, and that won't work.
Change in the half-backs is what's needed if the Lions are to play to win. If we don't see that (either today or as a late surprise change), we can kiss the series goodbye. And this is a job for Mish.
I absolutely don't expect WG to go for it, though.
There's a leak that says Farrell at 10...charltom wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 10:56 amCan see arguments for most of those but Farrell...?JM2K6 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 9:36 am My gut says no more than 5 changes for the Lions. My Gatland-Justification for Farrell at 12 is that it makes it a bit easier to spread the play wider, it adds another kicking option, and his famed leadership skillz will help...
Like you, I would get Price in there in a heartbeat but then I would never have dropped him in the first place, so impossible to say if Gatland is getting what he wants out of Murray
That's just looking to play the same game again with a different cast and then fling Russell on at the end to try to work a miracle.
Quite how there are no changes in the back row after their ineffectual showing last week is beyond me.

And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
A brave coach would have briefed a few of those guys to "be injured" on the day so as to spring a surprise. Otherwise he'll need to change 10 early if they're to have any hope.
That back row is ineffectual. Poor Mish & Tadgh. And Fagerson's going to be full of confidence if Sinckler doesn't make it...

I would like to offer my congratulations to our South African brethren for a series win, well done guys.

Yep, not watching
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot, But he'll remember with advantages, What feats he did that day
Some are suggesting we'll play up the guts bosh shit for 50 then bring on Russell, LCD and Simmonds and open the game up. Not sure how that works with Murray coming on though, or if our forwards are getting totally dominated again.
From a Scottish point of view I have no complaints about Suzz and Hogg dropping out completely and VdM is very lucky.

So I squares up, casual like.
Yeah, it's Mish I feel sorry for most of all, and also Harris. Hopefully this will fire them up for November.Begbie wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 11:20 am Some are suggesting we'll play up the guts bosh shit for 50 then bring on Russell, LCD and Simmonds and open the game up. Aye, me too. Hogg and Sutherland getting what they deserve really for not particularly showing up. IrnDu set up for a bit of a soul destroying day if the game plan is the same.Biffer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 11:24 amYeah, it's Mish I feel sorry for most of all, and also Harris. Mish/Curry is such a 50/50, I honestly couldn't shake the thought that one would start two tests and the other start one. Wouldn't mind Curry starting all three if he'd lit the place up in the first two given how good he is, but he really hasn't.
Mostert out of position at 7, but a natural athlete, so should be fine. Faf is a big loss, but Reinach should be up for it. Safer bench with 3 backline players.westport wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:00 pm South Africa: 15 Willie le Roux, 14 Cheslin Kolbe, 13 Lukhanyo Am, 12 Damian de Allende, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 10 Handré Pollard, 9 Cobus Reinach, 8 Jasper Wiese, 7 Franco Mostert, 6 Siya Kolisi (c), 5 Lood de Jager, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 3 Frans Malherbe, 2 Bongi Mbonambi, 1 Steven Kitshoff

Reinach was definitely the right call...we are not going to lose anything as Faf And Reinach have been in scintilating form.handyman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:07 pmMostert out of position at 7, but a natural athlete, so should be fine. Mostert and Lood were huge last week. We actually dominated the game when he came on.
Very strange that they perservere with Kwagga , unless they have boxed themselves into this position by releasing the Du Preez brothers so early.
Going to be a decent game for sure.
When he executed that chip kick...it was a perfect kick even though he landed on his arse.....boere wors wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:11 pminjured himself late in the game on saturday, muscle strain

Mostert has played 7 for the Lions. And it worked already well on saturday when he switched to 7 after Lood came on.handyman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:07 pmMostert out of position at 7, but a natural athlete, so should be fine. Cobus will be fine, especially in combination with Pollard, they are familiar from Montpellier.
Dont get the 5-3 bench, Morne is not really needed there and we are thus missing a fresh cover for lock
Ah right. I'm well aware of Lood's unfortunate habits following him for Sale. There's not many men that can pretty much snap their own leg off in a lineout, but he managed it, bless him.
It's strange that Reinach leapfrogged Jantjies, but maybe that's because Jantjies is better of the bench.Sards wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:12 pmReinach was definitely the right call...we are not going to lose anything as Faf And Reinach have been in scintilating form.handyman wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:07 pmMostert out of position at 7, but a natural athlete, so should be fine. Agree re Steyn, if we need him, we are in deep trouble.boere wors wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 12:14 pmMostert has played 7 for the Lions. Is this the first time Farrell has been dropped as opposed to rested?
