Re: Not Heineken Cup 23/24
I think he's just suggesting they haven't spotted it. I was a bit amazed that no-one mentioned it on commentary, and I could find no mention on social media, which is why I started putting up pics and videos. Astonishingly it seems to have gone under the radar.

The kicking off the tee was really quite poor. I was expecting that to come back and bite us. What's Furbank like off the tee, I wonder? We should go back to 15s kicking for goal. Slade is the obvious alternative as he's kicked several pressure kicks for Exeter this season. Yep, he's already taking...

Re: 6 Nations Round 4 - England V Ireland
Think this is a bit mad to be honest. England were a much better team when Ford was on. Really all Smith did was drop a goal that anyone would have done, under little pressure as he had the penalty. All seems a bit emotional which is fair enough You just don't like his hair I’d never be that shallo...

I don't think I understand the relevance of that; it's slow from Reading/Windsor to Twickenham, but from Twickenham to Waterloo it has regular fast trains, 22 minutes, much the same as Surbiton to Waterloo.Paddington Bear wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 11:23 am The line through Twickenham is the slow line from Reading/Windsor.

How can you be allowed to appeal for both caught and lbw, when they contradict each other? Is there a blanket appeal these days? It's always been a blanket appeal. You ask the umpire if that was out - you don't have to specify why you think it's out, and the umpire doesn't have to specify why they ...

Re: Fun thread... let's rewrite the Law book
There's no point blaming the coaches, if it's legal and more effective for winning games then coaching it is just... being a good coach.
If you don't want people to do it you have to change the law, you can't just rely on coaches not noticing.

As for putting the ball in straight... I'm pretty sure that's already in the Laws They explicitly changed it to allow you to put the ball in half a person's width to your side: 19 Scrum 15. When both sides are square, stable and stationary, the scrum-half throws in the ball: ... f. Straight. The sc...

Re: Fun thread... let's rewrite the Law book
Advantage shouldn't be about time at all. For penalties it should be about whether anything really interesting is developing. For scrums it should be about trying to avoid having the scrum at all. For scrum advantage, one successful ruck with your players reasonably well aligned = advantage over. Th...

Re: Fun thread... let's rewrite the Law book
If you legally come through the centre of a ruck you may drive the scrum half off the ball if it's on the floor. You're only offside if they have picked it up. Why? If you've come through the ruck legally and the scrum half's picked the ball up then the ruck is over, surely? If he can't get it away...

All kicks worth 2 points. Restart after a successful penalty kick is a scrum to the team that scored at the point where the penalty was conceded. © OB.. 50:22 can only happen if you took the ball into the previous ruck / maul (or on 1st phase if you had the put in at the scrum / lineout). i.e. no 50...
