Re: Well done Wales
Great game, to be fair we showed better in the second half but you guys learn how finish teams off then I can see you being a real contender for every 6N.

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
I must confess, afte advocating his selection for so long, I'm afraid he's a stephen Jones 10, brings those around him into the game rather than doing anything himself. We looked best with Halaholo at first receiver. Plus he's a shit kicker But I don’t think that’s a negative in today’s game, it’s ...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Also, and not letting pivac off the hook here just a thought, is the reason we’ve looked so bad the fact that our more senior players are now well past it and dragging the team down? 1/2p Cawdor Biggar J Davies to an extent have been shocking and that’s over half of our backs Yes, but his main job ...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
we may have seen the last of Biggar, Davies, 1/2p and other Davies today Sheedy improved us no end and even Hardie looked better than Cawdor. With North and Adams back they'll slot in. Botham was outstanding. Brown did an excellent job in the scrum I must confess, afte advocating his selection for ...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Is Jake Ball injured or has he well and truly blotted his copybook? Perhaps it's about Pivac having one eye on his return to Oz at the end of the season? Fair enough but why was he in the squad at all then? Although I’m not sure when he announced that. He announced it before the squad was named so ...

Navidi is injured apparently. Interesting that Pivac had picked Macleod to start before he too picked up an injury - weird... Has Macleod played 6 before? - What's Aaron Wainwright done to be so far down the pecking order? Not sure. Pivac's been unlucky with injuries (although bad performances that...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
All signs are pointing to getting being a very good coach, speaks well, will have the respect of the players and you can see a marked improvement in the defence.
I’m hoping that we get a new HC after the tournament and he keeps him around.

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Leadership and experience I’d say. Albeit it’s a bit wasted on this particular squad as there isn’t that many inexperienced players. You need that blend but in Lydia yes case, yes he does have experience but he’s been out the squad for a few years and we have tips who could bring the youngsters along.

He’s definitely lost some goodwill with myself. I was pretty positive with him coming in but like I say he’s been lost. The fact you said we aren’t going to outthink or out coach anyone is grounds enough for giving him the boot without anything else. That’s what test rugby comes down to really. We h...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
I'm not qualified to judge who's the best choice at 6 but Pivac and Wales really need some decent results now and never mind 2023. If Lydiate gives us that then fine as far as I'm concerned. See I don’t think he needs results in the truest sense of the word. If you could see a gameplan that wasn’t ...

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
Oh I agree it’s regressive but I have more of a problem that he’s in the squad in the first place.
Now that we can’t change he’s there I don’t mind him playing because he’s been playing well and matches up well with the Irish back row.

Re: The Official Rygbi Cymru Thread
As rumoured. I'm not loving Lydiate back - but I hope, considering the criticism he's been taking from Ireland that he has an absolute blinder. At least he has been picked on form. I don’t like not seeing Jarrod in the 23. I like Sheedy but he’s too similar to Biggar to come on and change the game ...

A non Scarlets back line for the 6N 15 Amos 14 LRZ 13 Tomkins 12 Willis (last minute call up) 11 Adams 10 Golden Child 9 Tomos What's wrong with that? It looks better than what will probably be put out on talent alone. Also looks to fit the supposed style that pivac likes as well which will make it...

A bit of a letdown to be honest. Why no Willgriff John? Why is Ball there when he’s off back to OZ (in no way am I blaming him for that). Why no Ioan Lloyd whose been playing pretty well for Bristol. Why 33 year old Lydiate instead of someone like Shane Lewis-Hughes. I’m disappointed Randall’s not i...

Take aways from today: There’s no way the golden child shouldn’t be starting in the next squad. I love Pat Lams style of rugby and want him to take over ASAP. He needs to bring Harry Randall with him he looks quality and would hopefully commit to wales. I don’t see a path for him for the saes Jones ...

Wales looked like a side well past their sell by date. Old and ponderous. Was also surprised at how much ground France made by just running straight at them. Do we genuinely think the WRU will have the stones to clear house. The other problem being with the pandemic, can they even afford to? You get rid of pivac you have to get rid of heyward etc.

The biggest concern for me is the attack. Pivac was specifically brought in as an antidote to the Gatland years of crash-ball only attacking...yet we look as bad, if not worse, than anything we put out under Warren-ball.
