Re: The Official English Rugby Thread

I reckon you'll find the change either happened slowly over time, or came about with professionalism. Wilko taking kicks was expected. NZ had Merhtens then Carter. Aussies clung on to the older ways because Larkham was not good off the tee but they had multiple alternatives elsewhere. SA had good ki...

Aye, if his loss meant a chance for Roebuck or Murley or whoever then we would be excited to see what happens. Anyway have to agree that performance and intent matters the most here. It's a tricky one but I do believe our traditional kicking game will just invite France to throw massive mutants at u...

Someone said there's 190 T14 + ProD2 caps in that team before Tuilagi was added (and he has 3 appearances for the national side already!) Mad stuff To be clear, I think that's an excellent stat. I raise my eyebrows a bit about guys with senior caps playing u20 but the number of club appearances spea...

Re: The Official English Rugby Thread

The kicking off the tee was really quite poor. I was expecting that to come back and bite us. What's Furbank like off the tee, I wonder? We should go back to 15s kicking for goal. Slade is the obvious alternative as he's kicked several pressure kicks for Exeter this season. Yep, he's already taking...

Re: 6 Nations Round 4 - England V Ireland

Seems very likely that the officials missed Freeman being in touch and a potential clear out that clipped Furlong high. Very unfortunate for Ireland. It doesn't show up in the highlights but I thought during the game that Slade was tackled and then placed the ball, he then regathered it and popped ...

Beating the world number 1 team (and outplaying them) ought to cause some self-reflection given the absolute panning this side and their systems have got, even during this game on here. Yeah I dunno how bad that was by Furbank, was a brutal kick to take and would've been a 50/22.

The blitz defence has coughed up a lot of seemingly soft offsides.
