Isiekwe must have fucked Eddie's pooch.
He missed the last few Saints games with an injury and needed an operation, maybe that's why. Mind you with Eddie and his foibles you can never tell.

Same for Wasp's prop Tom West. Otherwise I'd imagine he would have been in.

Trivia question;

Trevor Davison (Newcastle Falcons, uncapped)

How many Trevors have played for England? I can remember one from 2003...

He's part of that unfortunate club who were pulled before half time by Eddie and never seen again in a white shirt. Now you'd hope that his being 19/20 at the time and subsequent form might allow him to get another chance when fit, but who the hell knows with the Antipodean dwarf.

Surgery on a Pectoral muscle. He's likely spending the whole summer in rehab

They've definitely had a few decent players through recently with the Willis brothers, Loader (who may have been in with a shot here if not for injury) and Munga.

Caps still a little way off for the two named here though, so they'll need a following wind. Willis has has a better chance than Munga for me.

Wiki says three in total, including Woodman, going back to the 50s and 60s for the other two.

Maybe six have been called Nigel, however!

Lots to chew through in the squad. These training squads without a third of the league are always a little scatter gun. Of the LI players involved:

Parton: Real weapon with ball in hand. Makes a huge number of metres and has a good boot and a nice skill set. He's pretty slight though and can get run over and out jumped by bigger guys. Steward may be the more attractive option for Eddie.

Munga: In the take a look in bucket. Highly rated and has played a good number of Prem games for a 20 year old lock. He's not done much wrong, but also not done much to make him really stand out so far. May end up being really good, but there are plenty of better English locks in the league as of today.

Hassell-Collins: Absolutely ready for the step up. Good all round game going forward and defensively. Stiff competition on the wing below the men in possession though as the likes of Basset and Radwan are decent. Also have to think someone like O'Flaherty will be worth a look after the season he's had.

Just seen that Luke Cowan-Dickie was actually capped before Jamie George was. And it wasn't the same match either.

Surprised by that bit of trivia.

The ladies side seem to be doing well, too - I’ve seen some social media posts congratulating different girls for representative selection. There’s something special happening at Rosehill...

Like the look of that squad (certainly as a Falcons fan), plenty of players to come in from the top 4 but would like to see a team resembling the following for the Canada/USA games with a mix of experience and youth:

Genge, Blamire, Heyes, Ewels, Wells, Hill, Underhill, Dombrandt
Robson, Smith, Radwan, O’Connor, Lawrence, OHC, Malins

Subs: Singleton, Rodd, Williams, B Curry, Earl, Randall, Devoto, Steward

Six days after the match there has finally been some fall out from the Tigers v Bristol match.
Sounds like Tom Youngs had a go at the ref and offiocials after the match
An RFU statement on Friday read: “Tom Youngs of Leicester Tigers will appear before an online independent disciplinary panel on the evening of Thursday, June 17. Youngs is charged with conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union and the game, contrary to RFU rule 5.12.
“This charge is for disrespecting the authority of the match official (contrary to World Rugby law 9.28) following Leicester vs Bristol game on June 5. The incident occurred after the full-time whistle. The independent disciplinary panel will comprise Ian Unsworth QC (chair) with Gareth Graham and one other panel member to be confirmed.”

Plenty of rich pickings to be had for Bath, then.

My guess is it's happened as the recording has become more public. It was ignored up until now because it didn't seem to be in the public eye.

So you don't get in trouble for doing something wrong, you get in trouble for being caught doing it (it's not like the ref missed it), you get in trouble for the general public getting hold of it. Interestingly, he's not been listed in the Wasps game though, wonder if they've stood him down in hopes of getting a lighter punishment?

As I understand it Bristol/Lam are also under investigation. I feel sorry for Tempo, he did the best he could under the circumstances, apart from fucking up the final scrum. Dr Lam, on the other hand...

In other news Exeter and Sale are both pretty much at full strength at the weekend, could be phenomenal. or a 6 all draw.

Some decent experience in the backs especially there. Two superb 9s on show too for a change.

Orlando and Deago Bailey related? Feel like they must be with those names and both playing for West Country clubs.

Can only really say I'm familiar with the handful of backs I can recall making Prem appearances.

Scrum half across the 3 squads will be interesting to see. Thus far we've got:

Seniors - Robson, Spencer, Mitchell

U20s - Quirke, van Poortvliet

You'd think that would place Randall in the A side? Who else is in the running? The above cover most of the names anyone's excited by.

Two reasonable looking sides.

Real shame for Tom West that his injury has proven to require surgery, likely out for 3 months. Barbeary back on the bench for the first time in a while, wonder if he'll get enough to minutes to do enough to make it into an England squad of some sort.

Archie Vanes and Tom Roebuck sound like they should be racing a Bentley Blower at the Goodwood Revival.

Bristol v LI called off following positive cases in the LI camp. The final ignominy of what's been a fairly disastrous run in.

Could go either way. They would have liked the opportunity to play themselves into a bit if form (sure we would have obliged), but they do at least ensure that they'll be fresh for the semi.

Vailanu draws first blood for Wasps at the Ricoh.

Apparently Barbeary's had to drop off the Wasps bench due to a fractured cheek bone and eye socket sustained yesterday in the team run.

Tigers' scrum is starting to get an edge. Matt Scott scythes through the Wasps defence to score off the back of one.

Vailanu with a second moments after Cole bags his 3rd ever Prem try. Very tit for tat game, just a penalty separating the teams now.

If he'd spent more time on the pitch doing this rather than in the treatment room we might've fought to keep hold of him.

Saints in front at half time at Bath after a mixture of the sublime and utter shite. A microcosm of our season really.
