Nope, not seeing that reported anywhere so far.
Was actually thinking how balanced the 23 ended up being. England 5 starters, Scotland/Wales/Ireland 3 each, bench has 2 from each country. I know it wasn’t planned that way, but that’s representative.
Official Lions selection, moaning and bitching thread

Thought Beard and Josh Adams are both unlucky to not make the 23, but I can see them playing in the other tests, If VDM is taken to the cleaners in defence, then Adams steps in.Yr Alban wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:02 amNope, not seeing that reported anywhere so far.SaintK wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 8:02 am Reading on PR that Wyn Jones is out and Sutherland to start with Mako to the bench.

Could easily happen. DVDM hasn’t done anything on the tour to suggest this is more likely to happen to him than anyone else, thoughclive wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:22 amThought Beard and Josh Adams are both unlucky to not make the 23, but I can see them playing in the other tests, If VDM is taken to the cleaners in defence, then Adams steps in.Yr Alban wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 9:02 amNope, not seeing that reported anywhere so far.SaintK wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 8:02 am Reading on PR that Wyn Jones is out and Sutherland to start with Mako to the bench.

I'm down there in a fortnight, I'll be dragging a few mates to watch it somewhere. Will probably leave the top at home though.Slick wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:03 am Seems to be lots of groups from around the U.K. in Edinburgh today for the match, Lions tops everywhere
Think Zammit could also feature in the other tests he should have been in the 23 with a cameo in the final quarter against tired legs, and don't forget burned VDM against Scotland.Yr Alban wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:32 amCould easily happen. Formally confirmed at 12:30 Jones withdrawn as shoulder not quite recoveredSlick wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 12:04 pm Heard the Wyn Jones - Sutherland swap from a more reliable source a minute ago.

And yet you read my posts, if you find me boring then run headlong into a brick wall then upload the injury to cheer us up.

Wales did much better than those English cunts in the WC so lets see what happens today.Slick wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 12:23 pmSo just the 2 starters for the Welsh, sounds about rightSaintK wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 12:19 pmFormally confirmed at 12:30 Jones withdrawn as shoulder not quite recoveredSlick wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 12:04 pm Heard the Wyn Jones - Sutherland swap from a more reliable source a minute ago.

Yup. I expect he’ll be back for game 2 though, unless Rory plays a blinder.

LRZ’s defence was ropey. Missed 9 tackles in the 6N, over twice as many as any other winger on the tour. His time will come, but not his time around I don’t think.clive wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:49 amThink Zammit could also feature in the other tests he should have been in the 23 with a cameo in the final quarter against tired legs, and don't forget burned VDM against Scotland.Yr Alban wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:32 amCould easily happen. Can we not just bring all the Welsh players home now? They have less Lions places than the Scottish when the Scots used to come 5th.
This sky sports, Engish shit show really isn't worth it.

Was wondering, but no sponsorship on it. I'm wondering if it was just a generic lions shirt released by Adidas? No quote below the shield either, which is different to a lot that I've seen.

Ah, think I've found it :D.

2005 training top. Cheers fellas :).
Now the question is what shirt to wear to the rugby club today. That, or a recent normal shirt from the Aus/NZ tours. I'm thinking I'll go with that (assuming it fits OK!).

I have this years "warm up" top. Like it much better than the last two tours gear. The 05 and 01 kit was decent. Lasted ages in training.Raggs wrote: Sat Jul 24, 2021 2:04 pm Ah, think I've found it :D.

97 was the last tour of the heavier tops.
Yup. Sounds like it is a minor shoulder injury (not that it will be minor for a prop) so hopefully he will get his chance

On to next week. The only real changes I'd be crying out for is Daly to be replaced and AWJ be a little more aggressive. Those 2 pens that were missed should have went to the corner IMO (said it at the time).
Seen some criticism of LCD and Surherland at scrum time but immediately after half time it was better. The Bok starting front row were at it. The scrums where they actually had to set rather than engage and faf get it in quickly were night and day.

Swap out Daly, VDM, Sutherland and Watson. Start Owens. That's it.
I would only swap out Daly, he was several magnitudes shitter than the rest. Remember we won this game, no need for wholesale changes, i have not seen a single thing from this SA team that worries me. That is no disrepect to them, but they are a limited team, playing a limited game that the Lions have nullified.
Daly for the squad center best suited to crash ball (Aki?).
Otherwise no ther changes needed IMO - the teams biggest weakness was lack of cohesion. Lots of players we know can deliver had bad first halfs and feel dropping them is an overreaction.

Yep. Sefrica were very poor in that second half. Aimless kicking from a single game plan. Offered nothing in attack other than the box kick from De Klerk. Sefrica are going to have to up their game massively next week or the Lions will just do the same to them again.ASMO wrote: Sun Jul 25, 2021 11:22 am I would only swap out Daly, he was several magnitudes shitter than the rest. I reckon Lawes is in as AWJ is wearing a brace to prevent his shoulder from going too far back which renders him unable to extend in the line out as I can’t recall the ball thrown to him???Big D wrote: Sun Jul 25, 2021 10:03 am On to next week. Agree about Daly - I would swap in Harris. Otherwise I would leave the team the same and let SA worry about what they need to do to make up the lost ground. I might also put Adams on the bench instead of Williams as he offers more attacking threat on the wing than Williams does.Openside wrote: Sun Jul 25, 2021 2:43 pmI reckon Lawes is in as AWJ is wearing a brace to prevent his shoulder from going too far back which renders him unable to extend in the line out as I can’t recall the ball thrown to him???Big D wrote: Sun Jul 25, 2021 10:03 am On to next week. Worrah Twatgland gave the Scots and the sky sports vanity English players a go, as he had to and was probably contracted to, but they need to go now.
So Liam Williams.
Josh Adam's.
Wyn Jones.
Falatau and Beard to start.
Gareth Davies and Navidi on the bench.
