Remarkably silly. Especially the last episode.
I skimmed the last episode. It got a bit silly, and would say it’s not worth the hassle.

I really enjoyed the first season of that. The second was decent, but I can't remember finishing the third or much about it at all.

Finally got around to Ozark and working through season 1. Enjoyable enough but there's not a lot of sympathetic characters in the roster.

Witcher renewed for season 3

Babylon 5 being remade, bad news it's CW channel.
TVLine has learned that the reboot Straczynski is developing for The CW follows John Sheridan, an Earthforce officer with a mysterious background, who is assigned to Babylon 5, a five-mile-long space station in neutral space. Babylon 5 serves as a port of call for travelers, smugglers, corporate explorers and alien diplomats at a time of uneasy peace and the constant threat of war. Sheridan arrival triggers “a destiny beyond anything he could have imagined,” when an exploratory Earth company accidentally triggers a conflict with a civilization a million years ahead of us, putting him and the rest of the B5 crew in the line of fire as the last, best hope for the survival of the human race.

Just watched the first two episodes of Midnight Mass on Netflix. Not sure I want to watch the rest on my own in the house.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?

Oh dear, if anyone's capable of making something so bad it tarnishes the legacy of the original it's the CW.

Halfway through Midnight Mass on Netflix. Freaking me out a bit. Not sure I want to watch the rest of this on my own in the flat….

We started to watch The Chestnut Man last night - another Nordic Noir series (Netflix). It looks to be as good as the other shows in the genre so far, but it's not cheery stuff.

Read that book, maybe too recently to fully enjoy the show as it loses a bit when you know what's going to happen

Right. I just figured out I can switch Netflix to play original language and English subtitles.

I don’t have to listen to the terrible acted and dubbed US accent on the main character anymore!!

Phew!!!

Now I’m trying to think of the other foreign language series I ditched because of the voice overs.

Based on a book I think, (possibly French) black main character. Action/drama. Single word title which might have been the characters surname.

Going to give Jaguar a go although it looks a bit too action-packed in the trailers for my taste but maybe that’s trailers for you.

:lolno: apart from Michael O'Hare, the casting was so good in the original - can't imagine new casting couldn't help but be unfavourable.

Watched 2 episodes, and the best way I can look at it is as a "Ripping Yarn" and not worry about plausibility, realism etc. Main thing that I can't stop thinking is "there's Morse / Ygritte / Stannis / Podric"
I suspect that for me living in a submarine would be a very special and unique hell so seeing it vicariously is enlightening

Yes.. Game of Thrones featured heavily... I was hoping Jon Snow would appear to finish them all off...

Watching some drama based on real life events I find more engaging... eg Stephen, based on the Stephen Lawrence murder and Manhunt based on a couple of serial killers/rapists in London... much more interesting...

Definitely. I’m done with twists and turns and final episodes when I realise that I’ve completely lost whatever idea I had of the plot. The real life ones that you’ve mentioned are far better. IMO anyway.

Have you watched Don't Fcuk with Cats on Netflix? Also based on a real life killer... another creepy murderer...

Think you meant "without"

I'd like to have seen something similar to what happened in Homeland...

Season 4 of The Sinner with Bill Pullman out. I've enjoyed the first 3 seasons. Especially the first season with Jessica Biel who I admire enormously as an err ... actress. Or female actor I think they're now called.

Midnight Mass, like Flanagan's other shows, spends waaaaaay too long on the drama and nowhere near enough on horror for me. Could've clipped a couple of episodes off this no problem.

As it is the pacing feels really off, it's really slow for most of the running and then BAM the last episode and a half are full on horror territory with very little to show how we got there. Plenty of potential to have seeded previous episodes with creepy moments or even extended the season and have the insidious corruption of the town take place at a leisurely pace, giving more opportunity to show fear and paranoia building in the community.

The funny thing is how much more I enjoy her acting; when she has her back to the camera.

It's just shows how talented she is !
