Jiffy himself will from time to time have heard people come nowhere close to Welsh pronunciations and heard many jokes about his language. People do make jokes, sometimes inappropriately. Whether this was flat out racism or a joke which has badly missed the mark for some I don't know, but I can live with the idea it wasn't intended with malice whilst others reasonably make the point given a wider context the phrasing causes concern

To me it's not clear who'd being disrespected in the joke, those with a name some find harder to pronounce, or those who struggle with the pronunciation. I seem to have lots of security guards and cops taking a real interest in me, mainly because I look like king of the hippies, and particularly when it is sunny out and I wear my usual shorts, sandals and Frank Zappa taking a shit t'shirt.

When a security gaurd follows me and if I notice, I stop, look at them , they usually then walk away and then I start following them.

They really hate it.

One of my major, major pet peeves is people deliberately mispronouncing foreign names. Called our scorer out for this a couple of weeks ago at the cricket club for pretending he couldn't spell 'Alam'. If you're not sure, ask. Some sympathy when it's particularly long or from a language that doesn't work to an English tongue but the vast majority are choosing to mispronounce.
