Well, he ran out of partners, so we'll never know.

He certainly looked like he wanted a biggish score. In a short time.

Disappointed that Markram goes early again. He always looks like he should be scoring far more than he does.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong about Verreyne and he scores a big one (or two). Can't say that I'm all that impressed with his keeping, though.
Bumrah's top score in Tests is 34. Next best, 28. He averages 6.6. You made him sound like Stuart Broad
He really is breathtakingly tedious on cricket threads

Bumrah hit 2 fours and a six in his short innings.

I was making a point about him going after the bowling.

I wasn't trying to make him sound like anyone, and definitely not like Stuart Broad.

Yes, that dig was uncalled for.

I hear a lot of complaints about the Proteas being too Titans-centric from Cobras fans, but hardly anyone mentions that the Dolphins don't have anyone in the side, apart from Maharaj, even though they have been the most successful franchise in the last few years.

I hope Verreyne does well, but I haven't really been impressed with him from what I've seen.

Sad when supporters can't get over province before country.

There are enough kak politics in our sport specially cricket.

I'd like to see Dolphin Darryl Dupavillon get a go if a spot opens up for a white fast bowler. He's nearing his prime and I rate him very highly. Sarel Erwee is hitting his straps late career but at 32 its too late to invest in him I think. Marques Ackerman is a serious talent though and is averaging over 45 in FC cricket.

Oom: Elgar is kak.

Rink: He seems to do ok. Who opens for WP, maybe he should open instead.

Oom: My Province is Boland, we provided Malan for England.

Rink: Did Boland win any trophies?

Oom: Rinky supports the Dolphins over the National side.

In point of fact, the Dolphins have been dominating Domestic cricket, but Maharaj is their only representative, and I see no problem with that because the Titans and the Lions are strong sides.

I would rather have seen Rickleton replace de Kock rather than Vereynne who I feel is a selection to appease Capetonians and address criticism that the side is too Titans-oriented, rather than on merit. I hope he proves me wrong, but his performances in white ball cricket do not inspire confidence. That said, at least Vereynne at least has some International exposure.

Good work from both batters this morning, starting to push the score along nicely.

QdK maybe would missed a few catches but he would scored a 50 at least.

Watching Bavuma using his feet is so much more at ease then watching Elgar , no feet and hanging the bat around.

Generally De Kock's keeping has been awesome. It's his head that's the problem.

Hitting a lean patch now with regards to world class wicketkeepers with the retirement of De Kock. We've been blessed with legends like Richardson, Boucher and De Villiers.

Elgar isn't the prettiest of batsmen, by the man has a lot of fight in him. No one better to be captain or opener.

179/7 - 3 quick wickets with the old ball, undoes all the hard work, still 23 behind

Both Verreyne are potentially world class wickies and batsmen. I'm most excited about Warrior's Sinethemba Qeshile. He's 22, has a first class average of 36 in 34 games including a century and 14 50's. I reckon one of those three will match or even surpass QDK. You're right about his head though. He's always struck me as being a bit of an individualist in a team game. Boucher and Richardson were a class above in terms of mental toughness.

I agree with you regarding the young talent, in Boucher we have the perfect man to pick the correct player to back.

I don't know.

I thought Verreynne batted well. Better than I expected.

Jesus, they are absolutely peppering Jansen.

Bumrah takes a leaf out of Archer's book and bowls a beamer at him.

Well, Olivier and Rabada seem intent on bowling friendly half volleys.

23 without loss with no difficulty whatsoever.
